You Heal Me

Zeke: I'm about to say something else, but decide against it. Hey, who am I to pry? I'm not her dad. "Aye, so give it to me straight," I say as I lean against a tree. "Exactly how fucked up is this place?"

Anastasia: I smiled slightly "Apparantly, this is where they send up all the fucked up orphans so..."

Zeke: Which basically means sleep with a knife under my pillow. That's what I get for covering for mom I guess. Although part of me can't help but flinch at that memory. What's she doing now? "Well hey, guess I'm in the right place then," I say. "The name's Zeke in case you're interested."

Anastasia: I laughed slightly and blushed, fiddlin with the lighter "Anastasia"

Zeke: I sit down next to her and lay back in the grass. "How long you got here anyway?" I ask. "I got a year at the most. Unless my mom suddenly decides to get her ass in gear and come get me."

Anastasia: I blushed and looked down at him "A year"

Zeke: I nod. "Good. Cuz I don't know about you. but I think I'd go bonkers if I had to stay in a place like this for too long. Gotta stretch my legs sometime, y'know?" I look up at her. "Can I see your lighter?"

Anastasia: my hand tightened on it protectively for a moment before I nodded and handed it over warily

Zeke: I take out a cigarette and light it up before handing it back to her. "You want one?" I ask. Why else would she have a lighter one her? This isn't boy scouts.

Anastasia: I wrinkled my nose and shook my head, tugging on my sleeves

Zeke: I shrug off my suspicions and puff away on the cigarette. "So, dead, dead beat, or don't give fuck?" I ask suddenly.

Anastasia: "dead" I say quietly and flciked out the lighter, turning it on and off,

Zeke: I nod. "Dead beat," I say. "And a little bit of don't give a fuck. But that's when she isn't being clinging and immature. And be careful with that, you're gonna set your hair on fire."

Anastasia: I grinned and flicked my dyed red hair "Too late" I winced at the same time

Zeke: That probably explains the parents. Suddenly, a soccer ball comes flying my way. I duck down just in time as yalling sounds nearby. I look up to see a blonde girl in a gym uniform looking down on us. "Mind forking over the ball?" she mutters.

Anastasia: I threw it back, my eyes still wide

Zeke: The girl catches it easily and turns around, punting it so that it flies towards the others. I raise an eyebrow. For a small person, she sure was strong. She goes running off with the others and I look back at Anastasia. "One of your friends?"

Anastasa: I shook my head "I don't have any"

Zeke: "Why's that?" I ask. "There has to be like a thousand people in this whole school. there has to be at least one you can stand."

Anastasia: I shrugged
