Lockiee: "That won't fly well with the girl you like if she loves music."

"I missed you to." I said softly

Zach- "Okay well if I had to choose one it'd have to be... If Everyone Cared by Nickelback."

Jake- "I mean like..." I stop trying to think of how to phrase this.

Lockie: I smiled. "I love that song, it used to be my favorite!"

Zach- I smile. "Used to be?"

Lockie: "Yup, as in I have a new favorite."

Zach- "And what's your new favorite?"

Lockie: "Fireflies or TikTok," I grinned.

Zach- "I like fireflies more than Tik-Tok," i tell her.

Elli
I raised an eyebrow "Like what? Jake... um... I talked to... certain people... Is there something you want to tell me?"

Lockie: "Yeah, Fireflies is prettier. TikTok is good for dancing, though."

Jake- "I uh... I just uh... uh... I... Gosh this is difficult."

Zach- "Yup. But who doesn't love dancing?"

Lockie: I laughed. "Uh, I don't know...wallflowers?"

Zach- I laugh. "Well is there anywhere else you want to go before we go back to campus?"

Lockie: "Not that I can think of...and besides, we only have so long for lunch. Unless you had an idea of somewhere else?"

Zach- "Nope. Back to school it is then."

Lockie: I nodded, bouncing in my seat. I had too much energy for my own good.

Zach- "I think you had too much ice cream," I laugh.

Lockie: "Maybe." I laughed slightly with a shrug. "You had more than me, though! How come you aren't bouncing?"

Zach- "Because I'm not hyper like you are," I laugh.

Lockie: "Sorry, I'll try not to be so hyper."

"Just spit it out, Jakey. I can feel my hair going grey" That sounded /exactly/ like the old me, and I blushed

Zach- "It's fine. It's actually really funny."

Jake- I smile and shake my head. "I like you. I've liked you for a while but I couldn't tell you because I didn't know how. And I know it's not the best time to tell you but we never talk anymore and I just wanted to tell you. I've wanted to tell you for a long time," I say just barely loud enough for her to hear.

I take a step forward, then put my hand on the back of his head. Because of the height difference I stand on my toes, then brush our lips together, softly. Then I turn around and quickly run back to my dorm, feeling bad for leaving like that, but running on some weird high at the same time. I felt alive. But I still had to gather my thoughts after what just happened
