Mortal Engines!

If you've read Mortal Engines, or any of the other books in that series, you'll know what's happening. if not, I'll fill you in.

Thousands of years ago, the people of earth destroyed themselves in a massive war that lasted only three hours. However, some survived and started trying to rebuild. Eventually, to avoid the nomads invading, the city of London was raised onto tracks and wheels, and cruises the landscape like an unimaginably vast tank. other cities soon followed suite, and soon all the major cities of europe were chasing each other round and round, as most cities are fitted with jaws to catch and dismantle smaller cities for parts and fuel. North America is utterly devastated, and the general scientific consensus is that life cannot survive any further south in America than the permafrost. Most of Africa is ruled by Anti-Tractionists who hate the Traction Cities with a passion, and there is a constant war raging between the tractionists and the anti-tractionists, with the offshoot terrorist movement of the Green Storm who are anti-tractionist extremeists, feared even by their own people. Your character can either be a tractionist, anti-tractionist, aviator, or stalker.
By the way, the stalkers are corpses that have been encased in armour and brought back to life by old-tech. They never remember who they are unless they have been especially designed to, and even then it generallytakes something catastrophic like a serious injury or major system failure for them to remember anything more than a few disjointed scraps. More moder ones are generally very simple and poorly constructed, whereas the older ones are more smooth and were built with greater care. The most ancient stalkers have developed complex personalities, and are so well-built that theycan survive being run over by a small town.

Looks: Tall and thin with a mop of thick black hair. Stefan always wears a magnificent yet battered top hat that sits on top of his thin head at all times. His eyes are bright and beady, but often hidden by goggles.
Bio: Stefan spent thirteen years in the pirate suburb of Whealing as an engineer, before escaping on an airship with a pretty aviatrix the same day as Whealing was devoured by London.
Profession: An engineer by trade, but a capable aviator.
Faction: Tractionist, and proud of it.
