I woke to my head throbbing as though it would burst.
I blearily opened my eyes, seeing nothing but smudges of gray, black, and white. I blinked a few more times; the smudges aligned themselves into proper shapes, but that wasn't saying much. Wherever I had woken up, it was completely plain. I became aware that I was in a position on my back, cold surface under me. I turned my head, finding that I was a few feet off the floor. Upon attempting to touch a hand to my aching skull, I found that I was tightly bound to whatever table I was lying on. Great.
Well, fixing that was easy enough.
I jerked my chin upwards, severing my tethers with slicing winds. Even though I used so little energy, the action burned in my head with a blunt pain. I shakily sat up, clutching my forehead and rubbing my temples. What to do now...

XD BAHAHAHAHA only my drama buddies would get detention for pushing a piano down the hall while playing ragtime.

Sorry WD! Fell asleep on ya. And seriously that happened today. Its too bizarre for me to make up xD I was dancing along with them but ran away when a teacher got mad xD

I pull one of my knees up and watch him silent a moment. "The drug still affects you. Do you like our thoughts?"

Spiroblinked. "What is it like out there?"

Cricket traced his scar, shaking his head slowly.

"Nothing too exciting. School, homework, then normal work. But there's some nice things about it."

Wisp
"What is normalcy like?" I ask quietly. "Without these thoughts?"

"What nice things?" Spiro sat down at the table, watching her.

(Normalcy? Is that normality with a type-o, or....) "For me?" Cricket watched the opposite wall, almost forgetting who he was talking to, and not having the energy to resist.

((Wait, could Senet do that with the power-stopping gas they have pumped through the rooms?)) Red Wing stepped into the room, peering nonchalently at the prisoner's broken bonds. "I'd anticipated that." His footsteps clicked as he walked closer.

Spiro watched her like a small child asking questions. "You have a family?"

Cricket sighed. "I'm not one t' speak for other people, but in my experience...tough." Another sick feeling came over him when he was reminded how un-normal Wisp was. She could crush him without an effort, and probably would...if he was there to be punished. He whistled a slow phrase himself before asking, "Why am I 'ere?"

"Yeah," I laugh. "That's how normal people come about. mom and dad? The stork and the baby?" I roll my eyes and cross my arms, leaning back in my chair.

Wisp
"The Director and I came in after you had gone unconscious," i say quietly. "I am to look after you." I look up to meet his eyes, keeping my face and voice blank.

Spiro stared at her blankly, trying to wrap his mind around the concept. Stork?

Cricket expressionlessly studied her, and then looked down at his hands drearily. Look after him. That could mean a million things. Whatever it was, he didn't like it. "Ah," he murmered. "I see."

I frown at his blank face. "Yeah... I'm not demonstrating for you though."

Some sort of nervousness swims in the pit of my stomach. "I won't hurt you," I promise softly. I reach up to touch his face, blink as if realizing what i was doing, and steal my hand away before i do. "What is this feeling?"

((So sudden, and new, I felt the moment I laid eyes on you? My pulse is rushing, my head is reeling, my face is flushing! What is this feeling? Fervid as a flaaaame, does it have a naaaame? Yeeeeeees...

I suppose he should be able to, seeing as his power has a different origin than that of Ami, Kim, and friends. It wasn't something that was engineered by 51, and they don't know how it works or where it even comes from. Also, keep in mind that he's using the energy of his soul. If the people of 51 were to stop the flow of soul energy, then everyone in the building would die. Not like they could stop it, anyway. The only ones who know how to cut off/ciphon the energy of someone else's soul are the Sybek.))

Cricket tensed when he sensed her hand almost brush his cheek. His eyes flitted back to her, rounded with confusion and curiousity and caution.

"But you won't." Red Wing said simply. "Unless you want to leave your friends to their imprisoned and miserable lives, of course."

((How many people are stuck here? Need a head count to consider shifting everyone out. Got a really cool scene planned for something going wrong. Oh, everyone would get out just fine, but there would be a rather tragic consequence for notre ami ))

I meet his eyes and study his emotions closely before letting my face betray my own. My own confusion and curiosity, guarded and pained, and this nervousness that's not really nervousness radiating out to every part of me. "What is this feeling?" I ask in a whisper, my voice wavering. I'm afraid of the answer.
