The Way Of The Shinobi

1478, Japan. The Sengoku Period. The Onin War has just ended, ushering a new era of "state wars" between the samurai clans. The samurai are great warriors, adhering to a strict code of honor that prevents them from doing anything but hand to hand combat.

That's where the Shinobi step in. Also known as ninjas, these masters of deception work as freelance spies, assassins, scouts, and distractions, working both for and against the samurai warlords.

But a new threat has risen against the relatively peaceful land of Japan. A Mongolian warlord is planning to invade the island, and what's worse, he practices a dark form of Kuji magic, which draws upon the balance of nature. It is up to the people of Japan to protect their beautiful country from this mainlander.

Okay, so as this is historical, I'll fill ya'll in on some of the basics terms:
Ninjustu: ninja warfare. Sneak attacks, poisons, seduction, all are fair play.
Bushido: samurai warfare. Noble, but doesn't always get the job done. Entails seppuku, or ritual suicide.
Jonin: ninja leaders
Kunoichi: female ninjas
Yamabushi: warrior-monks
Ninjustu-Ryu: ninja school
Chunin: middle class ninja
Genin: regular ninja
Shinobigatana: medium length sword
Bo: war stave
Naginata: pike
Shuko: hand tool used for climbing
Tessen: sharpened metal fan
