what happens in college

Adam: I sighed. "She never wrote a note or anything. We're still not really sure why she did what she did. Of course, Dad did what he always did and hit Max." I swallowed a lump that had formed in my throat. "I-I just watched. I should have done something, but I d-didn't."

Brea: I stayed quiet for a moment. "Where's Max now?"

(I feel like Adam and Brea might be my 2nd favorite "couple" (seeing as they're not together right now.))

Adam: "At home. We still live together. He hates me, though. Not that I can blame him."

(Max is the main character of Facades.)

(haha, why are they your favorite?)

Brea: "I thought you said you lived with a roommate, I'm confused."

(okay)

(brok and dakota are my favorite. but it's fun because they actually have some substance while they're talking.)

Adam: "Well, I don't officially live with him. I drop by once in a while. He's seventeen, so he's not technically allowed to live alone, so I show up once a month and dump some groceries at our house so he doesn't starve."

(whoops, meant why are they your second favorite. and yeah, that's refreshing. certain other couples just hardly talk and go straight to...well, ya know)

Brea: "Oh." I nodded slowly. "But why would he hate you?"

(haha most of my characters aren't like that in their actual stories, but I want to put them in awkward situations just to see.
I like Adam and Brea because she doesn't take his crap xD)

Adam: I frowned, surprised she didn't see why. "Because I just watched my dad hit him and I didn't do anything."

(LMAO, but me too)

Brea: "Well, what did he want you to do?"

(xD)

Adam: "Stop him any of the other times Dad hit him, I guess. Or at least do something. He was the one who had to call the cops on my dad."

Brea: I nodded slowly. "I see."

Adam: I sighed. "So...yeah. He lives by himself, I live by myself. Dad will get out of jail soon, and then we'll be screwed. They're not my favorite people to talk about."

Brea: "Okay, then let's talk about something else?" I couldn't think of a good topic, though.

Adam: "How about your family, then?"

Brea: I shrugged. "I'm an only child and my parents want me to be some sort of business person. That's all."

Adam: I chuckled. "Well, then aren't you lucky?"

Brea: "I guess it depends how you look at it." I shrugged.

Adam: I shrugged. "I guess. Would you rather have parents like mine?"

Brea: "Well, no. But there are disadvantages to my parents, too. They're way too pushy."

Adam: I sighed. "Most people don't like their parents. I'd personally prefer yours, but..." I shrugged. "Yeah."

Brea: I was quiet. "okay." It's not like I'd prefer HIS but mine were annoying.

Adam: I scratched my head. "Sorry. Bad topic. Let's change the subject."

Brea: I just looked over at him, I didn't have any topic ideas.

Adam: "So...would you rather be outside or inside?"

Brea: "Outside...?" Weird question. "What about you?"

Adam: I shrugged. "Don't really care. Both are pretty nice. Unless the weather sucks."
