Municipal Darwinism

"You really think I'd start cutting you?" Crow turns to flash a grin full of slimy metal teeth at her. "I wouldn't really, and you know it."

"Maybe, I don't know Crow...you did hang me over the edge of the ship."

"Really?" asks Crow. "When was...? Oh yeah..."

Ceara nodded, crossing her arms. "Uh-huh...remember now?"

"That was... Brighton? Yes? Oh how I love raft cities..."

"Then and just a few hours ago out of the plane."

Alison sighed and shook her head. A fight should happen she thought.

Crow stops for a moment. As there is no blood in his veins, he cannot bluch. Somehow he still manages to look abashed.
"You know I was only joking," he says defensively.

"Well this should be fun." Alison said saracasticly.

"How?" asks Crow, genuinely puzzled.

"Its saracasim..." Alison said rolling her eyes. She walked to the top of the ship and looked out.

"Yeah, yeah, I know...I was trying to remember that while I was dangling off the ship!" Ceara snapped, rubbing her temples and trying to get herself to calm down.

Alison turned and said "Nice going Crow... now Ceara might jus tend you." She said turning and feeling the wind brush her hair behind her. The sun was setting and alison had never seen anything like it before.

"I'm starting to think about it!" Ceara said angrily.

"Oh can i help then?" Alison said with a smile on her face.

Crow laughs. "That is something I would like to see." He smirks and checks his finger-glaives. "I do not NEED to defend myself."

"Just shut it, Crow! Just because you're immortal doesn't mean I can't take you down once!"

"It wouldn't be the first time you've tried," he says, "but the only time you ever succeeded was because I had my back to you. And you used a hand cannon."
Crow shrugs. "Even then, I was still up and about a week later."

"Well, you make me angry and the only reason I do it to you is because it's a challenge and I know you'll be up and walking round."

Crow raises both of his hands with the palms facing Ceara.
"I'm very sorry."

"It's fine," Ceara said, giving him a small smile. "I'm just at fault. I shouldn't try so hard."

Crow pats her on the head as gently as he can manage.
"After everything your fragile once-born mind has witnessed, I feel I should probably cut you a little more slack. I'm proud that you've managed to stay sane at all."

"With you, it's not easy." Ceara laughed.

Alison laughed softly at Ceara and watched Crow with a new look on her face. She thought maybe if they... well he is metal but still love is something... what about Conor? Does he llove her too? Maybe but... is it that posssible? She thought curiously.

"I suppose. It can't be easy having a corpse and a lunatic as your two best friends."
He stares pointedly at Conor for a moment.
