The Better Of The Damned

Okay, I decided to remake this since I epically failed the first time. Heh heh. Okay here it goes:

Plot: You were forcefully taken away from your homes and put into a massive dome that replicates a giant forest full of dangerous creatures/people. This is one of the many 'experiments' that are being conducted all across the world on what humans would refer to as "Freaks". (Otherwise known as the paranormal) In the Forest Of The Damned, anything goes. Survival is the main priority to everyone, no matter how nice they actually are. They have been twisted to the ways of the forest, meaning that if they had to make an unlikely alliance to survive, so be it. They would even kill their own best friend if they had to. If you don't have the guts to kill, you will get killed by those who do. It's a game of survival, and there can only be one winner. (This is the basic plotline that will change as we character chat.)

The rules are simple. No profanity, but minimal swearing is okay. You have to make your responses longer than three sentences. Also, you have to get permission to kill someone else's character.

Also, please try to use a character that is in one of your projects. I don't mind if you make up a character, but please at least give some thought into using a character you already made or are planning on using in a story. I will let you all know when I update the basic information. Sorry about my previous screw-up. Let's character chat!

Okay, I'm going to post something. So, we might as well start and then let other people join in! Let's get started!

Mikey: The sound of my heart beating filled the silence as I ran from the mysterious shadows that had been following me. I jumped over tree roots and the underbrush of the thick forest. I didn't know how I got here, but I knew that if I stayed still, I would be dead. Wearing black leather jeans didn't make running from an unknown enemy any easier, so my pace was slowed. "Damn it." I muttered under my breath. "Where the hell are they?" I shifted my gaze just as fast as my heart was beating. No one was to my right or left, and I couldn't see anything in front of me. The thick fog had obstructed my vision, and I could barely see as it was. Sweat dripped down my face and into my eye. It stung, but I couldn't stop to wipe away the sweat. I heard animalistic screeches in the distance, and I finally realized where I was. I was in the Forest Of The Damned.

Laila- I'm walking through a forest i think? I dont know, there's so much stuff all around me. This sucks. I've been through worse before but this sucks. I wonder if there's anyone else around here, or if i'm all alone. I dont remeber how i got here and i sure dont know how to get out.

Mikey: I let my voice cry out as I saw my enemy in the distance. I unleashed full fury. After all, my priority was survival, and I had to do this. I let my demonic claws out and I sliced open the wild animal that had compromised my territory. I growled like an animal before regaining my composure. Why did I just do that? It didn't really make sense to me, but I just shrugged it off and went in search of more people.

(Our characters could meet up now)

Laila- I have amazing magical powers, but somehow i dont think they will help of this. I call fire to my finger tips and let it flit around for a bit. I try to survey the scene but all i see is trees, plants, and more trees. I open my mind in search of someones thoughts, anyones thoughts, but what i come across is so peculiar. I follow him into an opening where i see him kill an animal for what seemed like no particular reason at all. I stand there and listen to his thoughts closely, trying to judge whether i should go up to him or not. Life just keeps looking grimmer and grimmer.

Mikey: I surveyed the area. I felt my heart rate slow down, and I felt less driven by instinct rather than brain power. I regained my composer, and I attempted to wipe the blood off my shirt, but I only made it worse. How did I get here? Ah, it doesn't matter. I'll just figure that out when I find a way out of here. I heard a twig snap and I turned to see someone. "Who are you?" I immediately asked. I clenched my fists, but I didn't think I needed to use them.

Laila- He notices i'm standing there and for a minute i mentally freak out. He scares me a little, but then i gain my composure. "I'm Laila. Who are you?" i ask only because he's thoughts are harder to read then others. I dont ask where i am because i dont want him to know i'm lost, not yet.

Mikey: "I'm Mikey. I'm sorry if I did something..." I stared at the animal. "Oh." I muttered under my breath. Why does my other personality have to come out at the worst of times?

Laila- Finally i catch a glimpse of his thoughts. i wonder slight what he means by other personality. "Thats okay," I said smiling. I'm still not sure if i trust him but i think its better not to be enemies. I decide to ask. "Where are we exactly?"

Mikey: "I think we are in the Forest Of The Damned. From what I have heard about it, we are basically lab rats in a much larger scheme. To the people watching us, we have no purpose but to be experiments." I replied. I didn't really know much about the forest, but that was what I had managed to get out of the idiots in white lab coats. "Rather than kill each other, do you want to call a truce? Here, it's either an alliance, or the death penelty."

Laila- "Truce," I said reaching to shake his hand which was still caked in blood. Hey, i had deal with worse. "What kinda expermiments, are we the only ones here, and why were we chosen?"

Mikey: I returned the hand shake, even though my hand was covered in dry blood. "We aren't the only ones here. There are others . . . and they are more dangerous than anything else here. I have no idea what they are going to do to us, but I know that we were chosen because of what we are and what we can do. You should know what I mean." I pushed my deep black hair out of my face, and I tried scraping the blood off my hands. "It's either kill or be killed here."

Laila- I couldnt help but shudder at his words. I had dealt with a lot of dangerous situations before but none where i had been so helpless. Kill or be killed, what kinda survival technic was that? "Do you think that they'll let more people in here, like if i could get a message to someone who could help? Someone who was a different as i am? And i must ask, What are you exactly?"

Mikey: "They capture more people everyday, but they already brainwash them to the rules of survival here. The humans made sure that no messages could get out, but there has been one person who has escaped, but no one knows how she did it." I paused, trying to think of the best way to reveal what I was to Laila. "Please don't freak out if I tell you."

Laila- I dont freak out.

Mikey: "If I tell you, promise that you won't tell anyone. I don't want to risk it . . ." I had to be extra careful, expecially since of my demon half. I couldn't lose control, and I didn't want to. "I'm a half-demon." I whispered. I made sure that no one else was around when I revealed my darkest secret to someone I had just met.

Laila- "And who am I going to tell? Besides, we're allies right?" I took the news relatively well at first, but then it sunk in. Half demon. My only ally was a half demon. Suddenly i was overcome with a huge wave of exhaustion. "Do you know of a safe place where i could get a little sleep?"

Mikey: "Oh, right." I muttered. I wish I could just smack my forehead right now and yell 'Duh!' at myself. "I have a safe-house . . . Well, I shouldn't really call it a house. It's a little more like an underground bunker. Follow me, and move fast." I leaped over the humongous tree roots and I followed the thin line of clovers that I had planted so I could find my way back to my safe area when I first came here. How long has it been since I first got here? One -- Two years? I stopped thinking about it as soon as we got to a little opening in the ground. Slowly lifting the wooden plank, I motioned for Laila to crawl inside. "Quickly. Someone is coming."

Laila- I thought quickly before entering, a little afraid about what might be inside. But i had no choice. I was exhausted. I followed him inside.

Mikey: I made sure that the door was secure before I led Laila deeper into the bunker. I pointed out a bed with pillows and blankets. "That one is yours. Please try to get some decent sleep." I went over to my bed and I floppecd dwon.

Laila- I thought i'd never fall asleep. There was just to much, a strange place, a strange house, and a complete stranger. But weeks of little sleep soon add up. Soon, i was out cold.

Mikey: I laid on my bed, staring at the dreary ceiling above. I couldn't help but wonder why we all were chosen. They could have just killed us, so why were they saving us in the forest? What were they planning? All of these questions couldn't be answered, so I just laid back and let the darkness consume me.

(Skipping to morning)

Mikey: I woke up, but it didn't feel like morning. I just sat there, listening to the sounds of faint breathing and waiting for the perfect time to go explore. I needed to get an advantage on all the other paranormals in this forest, and the only way would be to see for myself.

have to get to bed since i have to be up in four hours, but hope to continue tomorrow
