Re: Before the Sword
((Haha, I'm a bit late))
Shadowfur awoke to the sounds of a great calamity from below. She was used to Ironfur's usual bellowing, but this was different. She opened her eyes and stretched her paws, taking her own sweet time before finally looking below.
There was a new squirrel; one she had never seen before. It looked like Ironfur, Goliath, Firetail and Quirrel were down there as well. They were deliberating over something, she could tell by their movements, but she couldn't quite make out the words.
Ah, well, she thought, deciding she didn't want to get close enough to hear them. She wasn't interested in getting caught up in the commotion. Besides, she was sure to hear about it later.
But as the conversation continued, she found herself inching closer and closer, growing more curious by the second. Shadowfur spotted Foxfeet on a tree branch just below hers, and scampered down next to him.
"What's going on?" she asked him.

Re: Before the Sword
Frostfur returned to the camp from his morning patrol, hoping Ironfur would have someone relieve him of this duty.
As he approached, however, he heard a commotion happening. Hiding behind a tree, he witnessed Ironfur and some of the others had another squirrel surrounded.
Knowing Goliath and Firetail, they would rather her be put to death to show our superiority to the other tribes.
Remembering the trials he himself had been put through during his first encounter with the squirrels of the Icefire tribe, Frostfur stepped forward, intently gazing at Firetail in-particular.
"What is happening here?" He asked, not yet looking at Ironfur for fear of his response to such a direct question.

Re: Before the Sword
Firetail twitched and looked away from Frostfur's gaze. She decided to let someone else answer that question.

Re: Before the Sword
DewTail lifted one eyebrow. Well wasn't this squirrel all high and mighty, huh?
"I'm not stupid at all," she said, an amused expression on her face. "I'm but a child. Do I look like a spy to you?" she laughed, staring at the fiery squirrel as if she was a child.
"Oh thank you!" she grinned at Ironfur, before wondering whether or not she should give her name... deciding there was no harm in it, she smiled slightly and said; "DewTail,"

"Well, Dewtail," said Ironfur, "I'll give you a chance. But know this: I will protect this Tribe from even the slightest hint of danger. If you let slip that you mean us harm, you will die. And, to keep an eye on you, Goliath's brother, Rustfur, will escort you everywhere."
A young squirrel, still a trainee, who had been standing and watching the scene unnoticed, as always, jumped when he heard his name.
"M-me?" he asked.
"Yes," said Ironfur, "You are almost ready to be promoted. Consider this your final test."
"Yes, sir," Rustfur said, honored that his chief would deem him worthy of such an important job.
"Sir," Goliath said, seething with anger, "I must insist that this is foolish. Let me kill her, or at least send her off, and be done with it!"
"Goliath!" Ironfur snapped, "Do not argue with me! I have given my orders, and expect them to be followed. You will not lay a single claw on Dewtail unless I say to. Understand?"
Goliath growled, but still nodded in obediance.
(sorry, that was a pretty big shpeil from me, I'll try not to do that too often)

Re: Before the Sword
Firetail crossed her arms (thats funny to think of squirrels crossing their arms) and huffed.
Quirrel grinned and scampered up to Dewtail. "H-h-hello. I'm Quirrel."

Re: Before the Sword
DewTail nodded silently at Ironfur, glaring at the bigger one (Goliath, was it?) for a few seconds. She smiled eyed Rustfur slightly, smiling a little before greeting the other squirrel. The one who just ran up to her.
"Hello," she smiled at the squirrel who introduced himself as Quirrel.

Re: Before the Sword
Sorry Adam, I'm in Florida and don't really have much time to post.
But I'll post now.
Firetail was pouting when she saw Quirrel talking to the new squirrel. She shot him a glare from where she was standing and he looked away awkwardly.
