Dr. Franklin's Island

So, i know most of you probably didn't read this book. Probably hardly ever heard of it. (I do recommend it though. Freaky book...)

The Story:
We're castaways on an island, but not just any island. This is Dr. Franklin's island. We don't know it at first, but we're in trouble. People start being taken and don't come back. The little known mad scientist has been looking for test subjects for his transgenic experiments, and we have just provided him with a bunch of thought-to-be-dead victims, with no memory of what happened to even get us on the island.
In Dr. Franklin's lab, people are kept in the hospital - basically a big room with barred in beds, but if you misbehave or struggle you're sent to solitary confinement. While you're unconscious you're injected with an animal's DNA that will become ingrained in yours. The change takes at least a week - slow, ugly, and sometimes painful - and is irreversible. Once the change is done, you are put into his 'zoo' where he keeps all of his experiments. There's no hope of escape. If you try it, you'll soon die without Dr. Franklin's care. But there's rumor of a reverse process that he's willing to give those who promise one thing. The choice: to slowly lose our minds to the animal half or to stay with him on the island forever and help with other experiments...

(PS - I tweaked the plot a bit so i'm not ruining the book for you if you do go out and look into it!)

The Setting:
A small lagoon on the extinct-volcanic island. There's the jungle, and beyond is the cliffs that make up the volcano's sides - unclimbable, basically trapping us on the beach section. There's a waterfall in the accessible jungle, providing us with water. The lagoon is full of sharks, the rip tides are strong, and the waves giant so we aren't chancing going out there.
In the crater of the volcano is Dr. Franklin's secret lab. He has his goons to go out and get his 'experiments', and his lab partner, Dr. Skinner, helps with the experiments. There's a hospital, with separately barred beds. Everything is card access only. He also has his 'zoo' of existing experiments

Attitude: submissive and quiet, definitely not a leader type. panics easily
Animal: snow leopard

Name: Quint Flinn
Age: 17
Appearance: Black hair, dark eyes, lots of freckles, tanned
Attitude: manages pretty well in his stress situations, but doesn't favor being a leader of a group.
Animal: wolf

Name: Cecelia Drake
Age: 16
Appearance: Long blonde hair and sharp green eyes turned up slightly at the corners. Small beauty above her top lip, and slender.
Attitude: Clever, slightly manipulative, has a decent heart. Leader.
Animal: Lioness

Name: Denver Tide
Age: 18
Appearance: Floppy brown hair in a skater cut, and twinkling brown eyes framed by wire glasses. A little gangly, hasn't quite gotten use to his growth spurt yet.
Attitude: Very intelligent, shy, but friendly if you get him to talk.
Animal: Bear

Maka's eyes fluttered open. Everything felt sore and tired, unable to move. She shivered in the sun and struggled to sit up and look around.


"Dr. Franklin?"
"Come in Skinner." Skinner walked into his office. "The new experiments have arrived."
His smile sent a chill through Dr. Skinner. "Good..."

bah. taking a shower, i'll be back later

Blaise: I groan, sitting up. "Dante?"
Dante: I look up. "Hey, cuzzy. You okay?"

Cecelia: I snapped out of sleep, never having been a heavy sleeper, to a room full of people I didn't know. I smoothed down my blonde locks, wanting to make sure none of them got a bad impression of me. I was insecure, I admit it.

Denver: I rubbed my eyes, and cleaned my glasses as I stirred. Who were these people? Oh no, was I supposed to talk to them? For the love of pete. It was hard enough to meet one new person at a time, now I had to talk to a room of them!

you wanna go directly to the hospital or be at the beach for now?

Quint blinked awake as well and looked around. Five other teens surrounded him, all at different stages of waking. God, everything hurt.... "H-Hey..."

I don't care, I just assumed they were in a room - whoops.

Cecelia: I attempted to hop to my feet, but my head throbbed and I was forced to sit back down, dizzy. "Hello?" I greeted, though it came out like a question.

Maka slowly inched up against the pillows. They were in some sort of...hospital room? But the beds were in separate cages, with literal bars. She looked around scared. "W-Where are we?"

Quint looked to one of the girls. She looked to be on the state of tears. "Hey, it's going to be fine." Though even he had some weird feeling about this place.

Cecelia: "I'm not sure," I blinked, my vision refocusing. I realized I was behind bars and scowled. "What the hell!"

Dr. Skinner strode in, two 'nurses' behind him. "Quint, Cecelia, Maka, Denver, Blaise, Dante..." He flipped through his papers as he checked off the names, walking down the aisle on the other side of the bars. He looked up with a smile. A creepy smile to Maka. Something was sort of...mad about it...

Cecelia: I grimaced at the man's smile. "Who are you? You know our names, so what's yours?"

Denver: I scooted to the far side of my cage when the creepy guy came in. Spooked.
