Changers - Away we run.

Ezra: I heard Zo behind me, "Do we have to?" I sighed and sat there for a minute before grudgingly getting up an opeing the door. I moved from my seat, sitting by Tallie and Melanie, throwing them a small smile.

Lee: "Thank you." I sighed, leading XOe into the house.

Ezra: Zo and I were quiet, analyzing the others who had just come in. I wondered why the found us.

Xoe: "Kay..so...how to explain this...we are all in trouble. Big trouble, and life threatening trouble." Lee started talking to the others. I looked around the room, my eyes falling on Ezra.

kay, can we pause this chat right here? I have to go preform (again...ugh) and i dont want to miss anything....please?

Ezra: I got up, leaving the room with my hands in my pockets. I sat at the kitchen table, staring at the sunny yellow wall ahead of me. I kind of felt guilty, leaving o alone with everyone, but I couldn't be around more people.

Tal
I watch him leave a moment before gently wriggling out of my sister's arms and going into the kitchen after him. Taking the chair opposite him, i simply sit a moment before taking a napkin and starting to fold it.

Ezra: My gaze on the wall waivered, moving to Tallie. I watched her fold the napkin, smiling to myself. I rolled my head to the side before takin another drink from my mug and getting up set it in the sink. "What's your power?" I asked softly, my hands folded in the middle of the table.

Tal
I pause, my eyes traveling up to his face. I finish folding my paper crane and my hand goes to my mug of hot tea. It freezes under my touch. "Ebbing and flowing, doesn't know where it's going..." I melt it, make it steam again, watching the vapor curl up and disappear.

Ezra: "That's so cool," I said, sitting up in my seat. I didn't have a cool power or anything.

Tal
I nod and shoulder off my sweatshirt, take another sip of tea. My scars on my arms are apparent to me, but they aren't the worst. I know they aren't even if i haven't seen it. But Mel won't even let me near a mirror to see my back. I'm not sure i want to either.

Ezra: My hand travelled out idly and I traced one of the scars near her wrist lightly. I pulled my hand back, mumblingmy apology.

Tal
My hand traces my own scars, my eyes unfocused again. "The Bad Things did it...they made mum and dad watch. Mel was unconscious...they killed them...going to hurt Mel...and i froze them."

Ezra: "Tallie, you did an amazing thing. You saved your sisters life," I said, taking her hand and squeezing it a little before letting go.

Tal
I nod meekly. "Mel's told me so."

Ezra: I smiled and nodded. "She's lucky to have you," I said and then got up, shifting. It was easier to be a cat with people. I sat on the edge of the table, looking at her.

Tal
I nod slowly, reach out and run a light hand over him. "Little cat and little bird...a bit absurd..." I give a small smile and rest my head on the table.

Ezra: I rubbed the top of my head againt hers, purring a bit and then I curled it up into a ball, putting my head on my paws.

Tal
I smile. "Maybe preferred."

Ezra: If I were human, I would have smiled but instead, I licked her hand happily. I blinked slowly and then meowed.

Tal
"A friend...?" I question myself. I bite my lower lip, thinking. "I haven't had a friend. They call me names. Say i'm mental..." I smile. "And then they have to deal with Mel. But you understand, right?" My smile fades and my eyes go unfocused again. "Even Mel can't understand..." I bring my knees up and hug them tightly, run a thumb over my scars. "Still hurts..."

Ezra: I shifted back. "Tallie, i'll be your friend if you want me to. You're a cool girl," I said, sitting in the chair closest to her.

My eyes travel to his face slowly. I give a small nod. "Okay."

Ezra: My response smile was disarming. "So I'm your first friend?" I asked.

"There's Mel, but she's my sister. Does she really count?" I pause. "So, yes. You're my first real friend."
