"Really?" I looked up at him, which, of course, made me blush harder. I was frustrated at the fact I couldn't hide my emotions better "Jake... from now on, I'm going to try to be more... me. If I start giving up, slap me or something, okay?"

Zach- "I'm sorry I've just... I've just been having bad realationship luck lately." Stacie being the perfect example.

Jake- I laugh at the last part. "I'd rather not slap you. So I'll do something else. But I promise I won't let you give up." I smile down at her.

I take a deep breath, then nod. I was going to start fighting this, I had to. "Guess this means I have to start taking the pills they gave me, doesn't it?" I hadn't told anybody about the anti-depression pills. Apperently, when I broke, something caused a chemical imbalance in my brain and I got legitimate depression. Not that I had told anybody that. Until now.

Jake- "If they'll help you, then, yes." I didn't know she took any pills or what she needed them for. "When'd you start getting pills?"

"Six months ago" I sighed

Jake- "Why? You seem fine."

Elli
I raised an eyebrow. Where had /he/ been the past year "It's not a physical thing, Jake. It's for depression" I said quietly. I let that last word hang in the air

Jake- "Oh, Elli. I'm sorry. That's... I'm sorry I haven't been there to help you through it." I look down at my feet.

Elli
"I just... haven't /let/ you be there, I guess." I sighed

Jake- I look up at her then down at my watch. "We should probably get to class," I say.

Elli
I nod, then walk wordless, to our next chat. I sit down with a heavy sigh... but there was something lifting about telling somebody else about my condition.

Jake- We get to class and I take my seat next to her and put all my stuff down.

Elli
I felt movement behind me, a boy shoving another boy, maybe. I didn't bother looking backwards, knowing who was involved already. Garrett and Austin, they're always getting into fights

Jake- I turn around. "Could you give it a rest for one day? You screw around with Lockie and try to get her to do stupid shit that could get her locked up and everyday you wanna fight for no damn reason. Dudes, it's gotten old. Just give it a rest" I turn back around.

That's when the room went to Hell in a hand-basket. Austin punched Jake for interfearing, Garrett punched Austin just because he could, and then Austin smashed a textbook over Garrett's head

Jake- The old me from middle school would have retalliated but now, I just got up and left. I didn't need to screw things up now. The teacher yelled something that sounded like she was telling me to sit back down but I ignored it and walked right out and headed straight towards the courtyard.

"You screw around with Lockie and try to get her to do stupid shit that could get her locked up" Wasn't Lockie Spire's character, or am I just hallucinating?

Austin cursed after Jake, calling him a coward among other things. Then I sighed and rolled my eyes, which caught Garrett's eye "Hey, you have something to say about it, little traitor?"

Uh... Yeah she is. I just needed an excuse for Jake to interfere.

Jake- I sit down and try to cool of before I go back and do smoething stupid. Those two are idiots and I don't need their crap right now.

Lockie: "Well...why /shouldn't/ I like you? I mean, I think I've just never thought of you that way, you know?"

Elli
My eyes flashed. Stupid, stupid red hair... "What'd you call me?" They seemed a little taken aback, I hadn't responded to those taunts in a long time "You heard me, /traitor/"

Zach- "I could tell that you didn't think that way by the way you joked and everything."

Jake- I sit there just thinking. Hoping that I didn't do something so stupid that I just ruined anything I might have had with Elli.

Lockie: "I joked? About what?"

Dang i messed up. I didn't mean to say that Lockie joked...

Oh, then what did you mean, lol?
She kinda did joke, though, earlier at the ice cream place.
