Swallow didn't look at the man as Princess ended his life, but he heard the scream. He winced inwardly, but his face remained expressionless. This was the daily routine, every day hearing the scream or the gasping, sputtering breath, and then nothing. Every day he tried hard to forget.

Princess: When it is done, I pull my knife away and put it back in its sheath. "Do you have the hour glass?" I ask calmly. Its to go to his daughter now. How ironic.

Swallow took the hourglass clutched in his hand, met eyes with Princess and shoved it into her hands.

Princess: Always, that guilty look. Its been two years now, and yet the experience hasn't wiped it away yet. For this, I almost pity him. Almost. "You will tell her where the remains are. Cervantes (her boss) does not wish us to touch them," I say as I start walking away.

Rabbit: "Be quiet, Rabbit. You'll upset your sister." I stick out my tongue and look away. Drew was allowed out for once after complaining that her legs would fall off if she didn't use them. And Mother, always so careful of her little girl, believed her of course. And now I have to walk with the world's most breakable child covered from head to toe in black lace. "I'm just saying, this isn't a funeral," I snort.

Swallow's eyes flicked to the man for a brief moment and then he looked away in disgust. How could he tell her, let her find him here? He started out of the alleyway. "Where is she?" he murmered, watching Princess limp down the street.

Princess: "A party near by. You'll know which one because its one of the only mansions without shutters."

Swallow nodded and slipped away. He smiled to himself, pretending that he was never coming back, that he could just walk for hours and see where he ended up. There was a certain bliss to it. But then his fantasy was shattered when he remembered the other times when that hadn't worked. He walked until rows of mansions began to pass him by, and then...one without black shutters.

Mischa: "Dude, is she alive?" I hear voices talking distantly as something nudges me. My eye is forced open and I let out a hoarse groan as the lights come flooding in. "Yea, she's just drunk."

Ella raced around a corner, breathing hard and grinning, and then collided right into some guy. She fell backwards onto the sidewalk. "Ow! Watch it!" She sucked in a breath, inspecting the locket in her hand. She smirked. Not a scratch.

Mischa: Someone starts tapping me. "Mish. Hey, Mish, get up. I think someone's at the door." Then let them wait, I think. My legs won't be working again til morning and my brain's on spring break. But some people just don't know how to take a hint. That's the one class they need in school, the one thing that could end wars, save the environment, and keep bitches in line: Hints for Idjits. "Fine, I'm coming," I mumble.

Rabbit: She bumps into me and I'm to blame? "You watch it!"

Nox: I looked outside my window, checking the street and stepping out to walk around before night fell. There were two other houses adorned wth black shutters on my block, so I didn't feel too out of place. I walked past the first house and saw a head duck behind one of the curtains. I sighed, hugging my bag close to my side.

Fitzgerald: "Dude, you're fuckin' sick!" The guy laughs as he picks up a shrunken head, turns it over, and waves it at his friends. They burst into a chorus of "Dude's!" and amused groans and I have to choke back laughter of my own. Ignorance, man, now /that/ is something to laugh at. "How much?" he asks before sitting back in the cello case, my source of operations. I cock an eyebrow. You /never/ ask that question. Grinning, I take out my cigarette and blow a perfect smoke ring into his face. "How much you got?"

Ella stood up, rubbing her butt, and slipped the golden locket into her back pocket. "Ow..." she suddenly noticed the girl standing next to him. Nice clothes..."Hm. Is the gothic circus back in town?"

Rabbit: Drew clicks her tongue and turns away, ethereal eyes locked on a gutter and her fists clenched around the girl's words. "Let's go, Rabbit! This is boring," she says. I stick out my tongue again. "And if we don't?"

Ella cocked her head at the two, waiting for the girl's response. They were an interesting group, and she could use a way to take her mind off things.
