The Unknown

Nate studied the girl for a moment. She had a knowing look on her face as if she knew what he wanted, needed. Cracking a smile, he stuffed his hands in his pockets and followed her. "No screaming, then?" he asked, knowing she knew what he meant. "No running, trying to get away? You're just going to go willingly?" He raised an eyebrow at her, the confused boy fascade falling away.

I chuckle. "Vampire, if you needed blood you could have just asked. I'm not that easy to kill. And I'd rather not deal with any souls on my day off." I walk off towards the treeline of the park.

Nate made a face as he followed her. "I wouldn't have killed anyone. That's called murder. Which is against the law."

The bonfire made long shadows, easily hiding us. I turn back to him. "I've seen too many who do not think that way," i say simply. "Sorry for stereotyping." I shoulder off my trench coat and expose my neck. "As much as you please. I won't die."

yeah, i don't know....

God, my sister could have been kidnapped a few minutes ago....My God...

Nate chuckled and stepped up to her, placing a hand on the back of her neck. "Thank you," he murmured. He slid his teeth easily into the soft skin of her neck and began to drink, putting out the fire that had been raging in his veins.

I close my eyes, breathing deeply against the slight pain. "No problem, Vampire."

She was outside running around when a guy drove by. He stopped his truck at our neighbors and got out. He started to walk towards her. She had no idea who he was, so she started to go inside. She said when she looked back, he looked pissed, so she booked it towards the back door and locked it behind her. When she looked out the window, the guy was driving away...then she came and got me. I wouldn't have known...I wouldn't have been able to do anything...God am I glad she isn't stupid...

When the thrist was no longer a problem, Nate pulled his teeth out of her neck and licked the two wounds stopping the bleeding. Breathing deeply, he pushed away from her, licking his sharp canines. "Much better," he muttered.

"Hello, hello, hello, I am your next DJ on this beautiful night" I said, slipping the headset on "We're going to take it back a little, to a time when music wouldn't slowly rot your braincells and reduce you to a blubbering mess" Then I glanced at the last song the DJ played "And what the what is a Tik Tock?!"

I rotate my neck, checking the bite marks, before pulling my coat back up. "Well, that was fun and all but..." Really, the party wasn't that great for me either. It was just somewhere to hang out for the night.

I chuckle up at the girl attempting to take over DJing. Did she even know how to work a mixer?

Nate nodded, giving a half smile. It was deffinately new for him to take blood from someone willing....What was he supposed to do? Wave? Say thanks again? Shake her hand? Laughing softly at himself, he said, "I'm going to get back to the party now that I'm not in any danger of killing someone." He rolled his eyes at the thought and turned on his heel. When he heard the new DJ take her place, he looked up at her and studied her for a moment, smiling to himself.

Yeah, I'm so glad that my mom went through all the safety stuff when we were younger.

Ok-ay... there are a LOT of buttons here. What. The. Heck. Can't there just be a little list of music and a play button? Hm... I started punching buttons and trying cds, and it sounded like I was wrestling with a wild animal. Nothing, nope, nada... but then I grinned to myself, my eyes going purple as I read the previous DJ's mind. So THAT'S how you work it! "Perfect" I muttered, then played All Along the Watchtower, Hendrix version.

I watch him go before going back to my place at the swing. I close my eyes and sigh. I'm sort of glad i'm a reaper at times. A normal person would have passed out with that much loss of blood. Around this somewhat drunk crowd, a passed out girl... I shake my head slightly, giving a small push so the swing rocked back and forth.

Dane walked up behind the girl on the swing and chuckled. "I can't believe you just let him do that," he muttered.

Nate made a face at the song that was playing and walked up the the DJ. "Can I make a request?"

I looked up, taking the earphones off and putting them around my neck. The boy was cute, and I smiled "Shoot"

Sai
I look back. "What of it?" I ask, a small amused smile on my face. Another who knew? Either a friend or an enemy...

Nate smiled at her. "How about The Quitter by NFX?"

Marley
"Um..." I looked at him like he was speaking a different language "What's a NFX?"

Dane shrugged his shoulders and sat down on the swing next to her. "Not many would do that is all."

Whoops, I meant NOFX lol sorry.
Nate blinked a few times in shock. "You have got to be kidding me, right?" he muttered.

"Um... look, buddy. Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrex, the Beatles... that's my musical language. Maybe YOU should DJ" I said cheerfully, and handed him the headset with a grin
