7 Minutes In Heaven

Jen: I was actually in the middle of making out with someone else, some other guy, in a closet. But I pulled away for a second to answer the call. "Hello?" I purred.

Grace: The caller ID said Jonas. Answer. Don't. Answer. Don't. Answer. I answered
"Hi, Jonas."

Jonas
"Hey jewelry girl" I greeted, a smile appearing on my face. "Got anybody else to join that club yet?"

Grace: "Yeah...No." I rolled my eyes, even though he couldn't see. "How's the Garden Club?" I asked in amusement.

Rome: A current of happiness went through me when she answered.
"Uh, hi. It's Rome, if you didn't see the *CID. I was wondering if you wanted to meet up, because, you know, I'm sorry for being an ass."
I ran a hand through my thick hair that was sticking up. Quickly, phone still in my hand, I went to the bathroom to fix it up. I had to look decent, didn't I?


*CID: Caller ID

Jen: "Oh! Hi Rome." My face lit up, as I pushed away the guy I'd been...dealing with, and mouthed 'bye, call me' to him. Then I left the closet, tugging on my shirt and fixing my blonde hair that had gone a little astray. "Sure, we can meet up. Tell me where."

Rome: "This is not to make-you, you know that, don't you? I am interested in being friends with you, Jen."
As if. Why would I want to get to know a slut? I knew I was just calling her so I could feel better about this. What had she said before? Rebound? Perfect.

Jonas
"Oh, still working on my... Macygolds, you know." I coughed, then laughed slightly "How are you doing?"

Jen: "And like we talked about, friends leads to sex. But for your sake, we can pretend to be innocent for a little." I smirked as I slid into my car and started it up.

Grace: "Same as when we talked earlier...but with more homework."

Jonas
"Ah, alright" Dangit, homework, that's right, I didn't do my homework at all last week... and I totally left school today, which, being not quite 18, was a big no no. Geez.

Grace: There was a moment of silence. "So why'd you call?"

Jonas
"Oh, just to see how you were doing, and maybe... if tonight, you'd want to go out for a drink somewhere?" I asked, sounding uncertain

Rome: I rolled my eyes but she wouldn't see. Again, that embarrassing feeling was rising. Good I'm over the phone so she can't see. God, I hate boners.
"Right, sure. Whatever you want, Jen. You know where I live, right? Can you come over?"
Truthfully it was because my room had a wicked big bed and no one was home. But really, I did want to talk with her.

Grace: "...except, we're not legal to just 'go get a drink', ya know."

Jen: "Yup, sure. See ya in a few, boo." I added the 'boo' in just to annoy him, as I hung up, sliding my silver phone back into my pocket. I'd be at his house in just two minutes.

Rome: I hung the phone up slowly. Very slowly.
And I was hungry now. It was getting late, time for early supper.
I walked to the kitchen and set the table for two. Then, I made spaghetti, with a rich and spiced red sauce and perfectly cooked white noodles. I'd done the recipe a lot and I finished it before she arrived with our family secret way of doing it. I dished it all out with wine in two glasses, and even added roses my Mom had in her room. It looked really, really good.
I waited near the door for her to come and found myself smiling. Maybe we could start something.

Jonas
"Sorry, forgot, I uh... I kinda have a fake ID I use to get into bars" I admit "But I have some beer and stuff at my place? We could run by, grab some, and go somewhere?"

Jen: I parked in the driveway of Rome's house, and checked my makeup in the mirror before getting out. Everything was perfect and in place, or tousled/smeared if it was meant to be.
I got out of the car and locked it, then went up and knocked on the door.

Grace: "Okay, that'll work." I nodded, feeling lame for not having a fake ID. "What time?'

Jonas
"Does... in thirty minutes sound good to you?" I asked

Rome: I answered the door and grinned, leaning against the side with my hands crossed.
"You hungry? I made dinner."
She didn't need to know I added a lot more vodka in her drink than I should have.
I stepped aside to let her in and closed the door behind her, the saucy smell still in the air.

Ally
I smile shyly. "Yeah. Thanks." I look over at her a moment. "You weren't planning on talking to her, were you Bekka?"

Bekka: Looking down, I shrug.
"I don't know her number or anything . . ."
"And maybe I should be alone for a while, think things over," I add.
I meet her eyes.
"Ally?"

Jen: He really was trying this whole 'let's just talk, no action' idea, wasn't he? I mean dinner, come on...I followed him into the kitchen and arched my eyebrow at the set up. Flower petals didn't scream friend. "I guess you like to send mixed signals, huh?"

Grace: "That's good."

Jonas
"Alright, want me to pick you up at your house, or do you want to just come over?"

Ally
I look over questioningly. "What is it?" I ask, my hand pausing on the door's handle to open it.

Rome: I grunt.
"Girls are so analytical, just appreciate things once in a while!" I cry, suddenly irritated. I was on a short fuse today.
Pausing, I added, "Sorry. Just pissed at the thing today. Thanks for, well, telling me," I sit down at a barstool and pull one out for her, fork already in my hand.

Bekka: Smiling, I say sweetly, "I had a lot of fun today, with you. I don't regret anything, you know. And I hope you don't either. Just maybe take a day to think about us becoming . . . Official."

Jen: My eyes grew wide at his little outburst, but then I just shrugged and sat down. I had heard it was a turn off for a guy to see you eat...I wasn't so sure about eating in front of Rome, then. I fiddled with my napkin. "So what sort of "friend" things do you want to talk about?" If he wanted to be 'just friends' he was the one who'd have to make it happen. And I couldn't really be all that flirty while we were eating- wait. I casually nudged my foot against his. Footsie? Best I could do right now. Maybe if we were, say, on a couch....
