Okay...the guy had almost no face...
Whatever. I've seen weirder.
"I set a fire," I started, "then showed her that I don't burn when I touch it...and that I can bend it to my whim..."
That about summed it up.

"You don't burn? Really?" He seemed surprised. "That's fascinating..." He grinned, revealing a set of massively pointy teeth. "I'm guessing you're applying for Property Reposession then....She's quite good at finding people to fill these slots...if she doesn't end up scaring them off first..." He trailed off. "Of course, you do realise that as an unfortunate logistical problem, I am unable to give you any sort of... Raise or anything because you are special. I'm terribly sorry about it...." He trailed off again. "Speaking of logistics. I realise that this may be morally...taxing for you, As it's morally taxing for me, I assure you...you may end up inadvertently killing people in your line of work." He said finishing quite seriously.

"Um...so?" I asked. "And yeah... Riddle said that I'd be burning people's houses if they didn't pay the property tax...or something..."
This guy looked kinda funny when he smiled. Hehe...

Jake: "Well its about time your creeped, ive been trying to get you there for awhile..."

He made an unface at the soound of Riddle's name. Clearly some unresolved problems going on there. He also sort of made a face when He heard that Peter was cool with the whole 'killing people' thing. He was used to having to convince them. "Oh. Ok...Well. In that case...I guess we'll just dicuss your hours and your pay..." He said somewhat awkwardly."And the mandated reprocussions for mutiny and or resignation..." He added almost as though he didn't want those regulations to be there. "Its nothing really...Just some paperwork..."He pulled out two stacks of paper. One in braille, and one for Peter to look at. "Here you go..." He said, handing over the typed one.

Oh. Hm. Reading...things... I...used to like reading. A lot. I can remember that. But that was when I was small...and about half the age I was now... And it wasn't like I'd gone to school in almost nine years, so...
I took the papers from him, scrutinizing the words on the first page. Oh, I could read these. Nevermind. No problem.
...Fire? No, not here. I needed these...so I needed them not burned...which was a shame...

"So. This has actually been very productive. I;m quite happy to have had the privelige to meet you...Good luck...setting things on fire." Mr.Face said calmly. "Riddle..." The feeling of awkward went back into the room. "Should be back to take you...Somewhere? Probably to pick up your new assignment shortly...You can wait outside the office until then." He said with a grin.

Outside-

Riddle hated her father. She really hated him. He had no right to just...casually apologise for the fifth time like that. She had already rejected the apology 4 times previously, and had no intention of changing her mind. She sat against a wall for about an hour, waiting for the paperwork to get done, before getting up and walking several hallways to pick Peter up again.

Ezra followed behind Riddle. "Who's he? A friend of yours?"

I looked up as Riddle approached.
"So..." I started. "Burning things now?"
I reeeeeeally wanted to get to that... Hehe...

"New employee. You're next." Riddle informed Ezra. She knocked on the wooden door again.
"Yes?" Mr.Face's unface fell upon...seeing? her. "Oh." He paused a second. "What now?" He asked somewhat awkwardly.
"I have another new employee." Riddle said flatly, Clearly irritated at having to talk to her father again so soon.
"That was fast. Isn't this your day off? You shouldn't be here at all today!" He said somewhat hysterically. Her lack of forthcoming forgiveness regarding what at this point appears to be a noodle incedent was clearly driving him mad. "Come in though...Other new employee." He opened the door wider, standing imposingly to one side.
"Ok...erm...Well. Now I guess I'll take you to the assignment pick up box...and you can pick up an assignment. Put on the mask, now that you're official." She told Peter. All according to protocol. Just how she liked it.

I put on the weird mask.
"Okay, assignment box then," I said.

Riddle took off downstairs. She still had loads of time before she had to go back for Ezra. "So...Anytime you haven't got an assignment... you just go to the assignment box, punch in your occupation, and it'll spit something out. It's nice that way. Keeps us efficient." Riddle said as she walked. Once downstairs she turned a sharp right and stopped in front of a large black box nailed to the wall. Rusty buttons with both braille and regular typeface labels took up the whole front of it. "So...You're a property Repo man...Go push the button." She said informatively.

But whatever. I went over and pushed the button; the assignment box spat out an assignment, just like she said it would. I picked it up and inspected it.
