Re: Wishing stars
(*creeps back, since Avery creeped the other one* I just read about Ryder's death and cried. I also want to, like, give you guys trophies or something for creating one of the more realistic romances on the site xD)

Re: Wishing stars
Lucia's eyelids dropped fractionally but she didn't move like that for a while. Part of her wanted to close the inch that was between them, kiss him, try to forget all of her problems. The other part of her was being weighed down with guilt. Suddenly, she turned, so she was facing away, her back toward him and her breaking shaky. "I'm sorry," she whispered "I just.. I thought you were him."
(I cried a bit, too. And thanks :3)

Re: Wishing stars
Tucker sighed and rubbed her back, pulling her into his arms. "It's alright, Lucia. I understand." He murmered quietly, doing his best to comfort her. He wondered how long he would have to be here, but decided chores could wait. This was more important. "Wanna go for a drive? It might help get your mind off of things."

Re: Wishing stars
Lucia looked at him, searching his face. "I'll go get dressed," she said, rising from the couch and walking up the stairs slowly. There was a pain in her chest as she got to her room and looked at the computer chair. He had been there they day that he had kissed her on the street, trying to prove his point so desperately. She put on a pair of shorts and ditched her t-shirt for a different shirt. She threw her hair into a ponytail and rubbed her eyes, then headed down stairs.

Re: Wishing stars
Tucker was waiting by the door, slipping his boots back on, lacing them up. He looked up at her and gave a small smile. "Ready?"

Re: Wishing stars
Lucia nodded, following him out and taking a deep breath. His truck was in the drive, shining under the sun. There was a cool breeze that whipped around that Lucia couldn't help but smile into. She knew Ryder would want to her to be happy. Hell, he told her to stay happy. He would want her to move on, not be miserable, right? Maybe she wasn't done greiving yet, but she felt like eventually, things might get better.

Re: Wishing stars
Tucker followed her to the passenger side and helped her in, the truck being a ways off of the ground. He then went over to his side and got in, starting the old diesel up, and pulling out of her drive way. "Have any place you really like to go?"

Re: Wishing stars
Lucia shook her head. She thought about telling him to go to the beach, but she wasn't sure if she could go there without crying. "Anywhere," she said. In her mind, the ideal place was some sort of meadow or feild. Or a porch with rocking chairs. Both of those sparked a warm feeling in her chest. Any place would do, though. All she wanted was to get away.

Re: Wishing stars
Tucker gave a small nod as he headed out of town and onto a dirt road that led towards his house, though he wasn't going to tell her. They weren't going to the house anyway. Fields of golden colored wheat and dark green alphalpha surrounded them.

Lucia looked out the window, a tiny smile forming on her lips. It was like he had read her mind. She wanted to reach her hand out and feel the plants brush over her skin. She looked over at him, still smiling slightly. "Where are we?" She asked.

"My fields." Tucker said with a small smile as he watched at her. "My house is just over there, tucked at the base of those mountains." He said pointing, his arm resting ontop of the stearing wheel.

"Cool," Lucia said quietly. His feilds... He lived out here, out of the city. It must be peaceful, without any of the worries. Her mind startedto clear, just temporarily, as she watched the golden waves go by.

Re: Wishing stars
Tucker looked over at her and gave a small smile, the sun resting on her just right, making her look like a broken angel. He sighed and looked back at the road. "So, what do you do for fun?"

"I write, cook, hang out with my friends a lot of the time. I also like to explore," Lucia said. Thinking about it, she didn't really know what she did for fun that hadn't involved Ryder. The thought pulled at her heart, but she remained strong, not letting it come across on her face. "What do you do for fun?" She asked.

Re: Wishing stars
Tucker thought about not answering that question, then decided it wouldn't be fair. "Well, I work from about four till school starts. Then come home and work some more. In my spare time, which isn't often, I work on the tactors, have a beer or two. Don't have many friends, so I don't really go hang out much."

Re: Wishing stars
Lucia looked at him, eyes widening fractionally. She didn't think she'd ever worked as much as he had. Her eyes ran down his arms, noticing the muscle that was built on them and then to his hands, which were calloused from working. Her eyes stayed on his hands for a moment longer and then she looked down at her own. Thin, delicate hands, long nails each painted with a chipped turquoise color, no callouses, nothing to show she had worked.

Re: Wishing stars
Tucker shot her a lopsided grin. "I have three jobs at the moment. I'm sort of a work aholic. But I have to be. It's what pays for my college funds."

Re: Wishing stars
Lucia frowned for a moment. "It doesn't seem right," she said to herself. "It's not fair to have to work so hard to get something that should be available to all," she continued, her voice low and her eyes still on her hands. He didn't seem like the type who would accept any help, though.

Re: Wishing stars
"Eh. I don't mind it to much. I'd rather stay out of debt and be able to say I paid for it all myself, you know? Makes me feel like I worked for it. Like I accomplished something." Tucker smiled as he turned down yet another dirt road.

Re: Wishing stars
Lucia couldn't help the wide smile that spread across her face. After just a second, though, it dimmed, shinking to half it's size and her eyes remained sad.

Tucker looked over at her, then back out at the road. "What are you going to college for?"

Re: Wishing stars
Lucia shrugged. "Undeclared for my first year. I'm still not sure what I want to do when I finally grow up," she admitted. He had his dreams set and she admired that and there was slight envy. She still hadn't figured out what she wanted to do and now, this loop was throwing her off.

"Well, what do you like to do?" Tucker asked as he pulled out into the middle of a field.

Re: Wishing stars
"Everything," Lucia said, her tone slightly wistful. "I don't know what I like to do, that's the problem. As soon as someone asks me, I tend to freeze up."
