Anne took it and watched him leave before heading away to go find Mrs.
Daniels and tell her about the new tenet.

With a loud clank he sat his stuff in a corner and sat on the bed. He undid his long coat and loosend his shirt. He laid back on the bed and sighed a breath of relief. Finally some time to relax....

Scarlett: As she walked down the dusted road, she pulled at the edge of her uncomfortable silk dress, wishing she rather had on linen skirt. Her mother would never approve of such thing though. She quietly made her way to the quiet farm house, knocking on the door with a timid hand. After waiting quiet some time, she continued deeper into the farm, looking for someone to deliver the message to. Upon seeing a brunette man with his hair tied back working in the field, she stepped over to him. "Excuse me, sir?" She asked gently, as to not startle him.

Samuel glanced up at the girl, wiping a sheen of sweat from his forehead. "'Ello ma'am. You lookin' for someone?" He asked sticking the end of the shovel in the ground and leaning on it with a lopsided grin.

James turned onto his side on the bed. He sighed and allowed his eyes to shut, happy for the time to relax. He seized the moment and allowed his mind to wonder.

Scarlett: I smiled as his handsome face turned to me. "Well, it seems I am. Is the owner of this farm 'ere? " I asked, not really wanting to discuss business and rather stay and talk with this man.

Samuel smiled and pointed at a tall man with brown hair, spotted by gray coming around the edge of the barn leading a colt. "That'd be my pa, the owner 'ere."

James woke a few hours later and stretched as he stood. He frowned, not happy to feel so old. He was just 18 for crying out loud and already his bones ached. He exited his room and made his way to the front, looking to see if he could buy a drink and get some info on the ranch that was hiring him.

Anne was down in the commons serving lunch to a few farmers that had wondered in. Sweat had stuck a lock of her hair to her face and she swept it to the side with a smile as she poured their coffee and set a couple of plates on the table before heading back into the kitchen.

James took a seat at a table and he looked up to see the pretty girl making her way to the kitchen. His eyes followed her, but he shook his head and muttered under his breath about focusing on his work.

Anne caught some movement out of the corner of her eyes. Turning she saw the man from earlier and gave a small smile as she changed directions. "'ello there are you wantin' some lunch?" She asked politely.

James tilted his head thinking. "Tea, very sweet tea please ma'am." He kicked himself mentally as he found himself studying her. His fingers tightned on the table.

Anna smiled sweetly again, giving a small curtsy as she carefully kept her eyes on his face as was proper instead of studying him. "I will have it out to you in a moment sir." She replied then turned with another sweet smile and headed back to the kitchen for his tea.

Scarlett: "Why, thank you" I smiled, smoothing the folds on my dress. My feet still unwilling to move away from him, I politely stuck out my hand. "I'm Scarlett" I said simply, the wind ruffling past my hair.
