The Hunted

Some people have all the luck.
It is the present, 2011, and in the small state of Florida, a new type of species has began to bloom. Around the age of 14 or 15, some teenagers have begun to change, to become something not quite human. Of course, the only ones who know about these people are Trackers, people sent to hunt them down.
It’s simple. The government noticed a small group of kids recorded doing extremely strange things, and collected a team of Trackers to kill them. Not warn, not change, kill. They are a threat, and who knows if they are even from Earth? It’s best just to get rid of them, right?
Lately, some have just been getting kidnapped, not killed. The reason why is unknown.
These kids want to live. Who wants to die for something they can’t control? So, the small group of teenagers are in a fight for survival. Any second they could be assaulted by Trackers. They have to be on their guard, and look out for others of their kind. These species are naturally drawn together, whether the connection be friendship or love, it’s incredibly strong. For example, if one sees another, they could feel like they’ve known one another for years, and feel a strong protective need over each other. So, all these people are drawn to each other, which makes it harder and easier at the same time for Trackers to catch them.
So what exactly are these creatures?
Ages 14-15, male or female. They look like humans, with the same light hair, light skin, and light colored eyes. They’re taller than average, and also share an intense love of gold. What makes them so special, though? So feared by the government?
They have incredible mind abilities. From persuasion to telepathic powers, each teen of this species is blessed with an impeccable mind. If the teen is strong enough, their powers go out of control. The powers start off weak, but are strengthened by one thing. Gold. Just by touching gold, this species gains more strength. They’re addicted to touching or even eating gold, absorbing the power inside of it. After they finish, the gold becomes ash. Without having gold for 24 hours, they usually fall into a coma until they come into contact with it again.
They are called Golders.
Rules:
-Please only make your characters Golders. You can have as many or little as you’d like.
-Only the first born child in the family is a Golder.
-NO ONE LINERS.
-No godmodding.
-I control what Trackers do, so don’t worry about that. You cannot control if they are or aren’t sneaking up behind you, and sometimes, you won’t even know.
-The chat should start off in school, and yes, some characters may already know each other, or start noticing a connection. Some may know of their abilities, some may not. This chat isn’t just about the power itself but how the characters will become friends or in relationships. So yes, there is teen drama mixed in here.
-Try to be creative with your mind power. Also, all powers are equal.
-If two Golders get angry with one another, their powers don’t work until the fight is over.
-It is very possible that a Golder named Jane could feel an intensely strong attraction to two male Golders at the same time just by seeing them.
-I don’t know exactly where the chat is headed, if they’ll have to run away, but I’m thinking that the Golders find out about a safe haven away from the trackers that they need to get to before kidnapped ... or killed.

Knowledge of Golders (are they aware of what they are?): Very aware. Has dug up facts about it online. Spends most of her time strengthening her power and working a high-paying but long-hours job so she can buy more gold.
Mind power: Duplication: ability to duplicate herself or other objects several times using the mind.

Mind Power: has super inteligence.
One interesting fact: Despite being able to retain information, she has problems remembering things like friends and faces. It's getting worse and so she's started toting a camera around to help her remember.

One interesting fact: She almost died in a motorcycle accident three years ago, yet still rides as regularly as she can -- meaning whenever she can be sneaky.

Clayton opened the shop door and stepped outside, hit by a gust of winter wind. Snowflakes tangled in her hair, dusting the street around her, faintly outlined by the yellow glow from street-lights. She tightened the tan leather coat around herself, and began to walk home in the blustering wind. Her golden hair whipped around her, eyes squinted tight, feeling peaceful as she heard her feet crunch against the new snow . . .
And another set of feet behind her. Clayton's head spun.
Clayon, Clayton . . .
Her name was a whisper on the wind, wrapping around her head, pulsating in her chest. A Tracker . . . With a power? That was new. But what was it?
Suddenly, the ground became a gargled mess around Clayton. Her hands shot out at her sides, as the sky fell to her knees. The scene around her melted.
All she could feel were hands on her shoulders, and then tape on her mouth and a blindfold over her eyes . . .
Shit!
The world stopped turning. She was in the back of a van, driving away.
"Weren't expecting that one, were you, dear? You've been getting away from us for five years now. Boss'll be happy I caught you," a man chuckled from the driver seat.
She was in the back, tied to the seat, helpless. After she calmed her raging emotion, she realized she could get out of here quite easily. Her tongue licked the tape around her lips as she felt herself start to shift. A searing pain wracked her body, and suddenly, there were two of her. The clone wore just what she did, and sat beside her, without the tape and ropes. Clayton focused, and was surrounded in a flash of white for a moment, then transfered to her clone. That had taken years of practice.
"Not this time, and not ever," she said breezily, as her hands felt the handle of the door and pulled it open.
The van halted to a stop and Clayton hid under the seat. The driver expected Clayton to escape, and ran onto the streets searching. With a smile, Clayton shut the door and locked it behind them, hopped in the front seat, and drove away. A chuckle escaped her lips as she drove home. She had school the next morning, and had to think of a place to dump off the van before getting rid of her clone.

Fee sat cross-legged on her queen bed with scarlet pillows and sheets. Her light eyes were fixed on the teddy-bear hamster hopping around. She'd named him "Nemo" because he was always running away from home.
Tonight he was contempt on her bed. Fee reached out to stroke his fuzzy back, feeling a small shock creep up her arm. She was expecting the feeling, and as it spread through her body, she barely noticed. This was normal. When her hand drew back from Nemo, Fee's nails were curled and sharp, and her body was covered in a light coat of orange and white hair. She glanced in the mirror, and giggled. Fee was home alone, not worrying about anyone seeing her in this freakish state. After glancing at the clock, she put Nemo in his cage and concentrated on removing the hamster features from her body. School was tomorrow and she needed to get some sleep. After de-hamstering herself, Fee turned off the lamp and slipped under the covers for a deep sleep.

Gianni tried but couldn't sleep. Her mind was just filled with feelings and emotions and she couldn't turn it off. She had no idea why she felt so many things at once, and it scared her, yet mesmerized her at the same time. Gianni had first noticed it several weeks ago on the anniversary of her mom's death. She had just reached the bottom of the stairs when an intense wave of grief hit her. Never bring close her mom, Gianni knew that it couldn't be coming from her. her dad on the other hand was sobbing in the garage. She could feel the intense pain that he was feeling from the loss of his long time wife. After that, she noticed it happening a lot more. What was going on? And why would it happening. "Please, stop." She said softly, trying to wish the feelings away.
