Moonlight Dance Club/ hotel

James gave a tired sigh and laid his head on her bed. "Artemis?" His eyes drooped a little and he really started to feel his hunger.

Raphael kept running, enjoying the feeling of freedom he did'nt usually have in the city. He dodged the trees easily as he went through his territory.

Kendra: I kept running, flitting through trees, avoiding obstacles, and trying not to get tripped up by tree roots. Running this fast and faceplanting... would be really really painful, no doubt. I caught up to Raphael and kept pace, running alongside him. There was still a good few hours until the sun would rise. I planned to enjoy them as much as i could.

Artemis tilted her head away, sham filling her. She was suppose to die. Now how was she to face raphel? She froze, raphel. Did he know? of course he knew, he was alpha. She really wished she had died now

Raphael yet again went to acting like a pup on its first run. He nipped at animals not fast enough to move out of the way and he challenged himself every oppurtunity he got.

James reached out and rubbed her shoulder. "Artemis, please at least speak to me." He stayed where he was though and sighed. He was going to eat like he never had before tonight....he'd have to tell Raphael as soon as they got done with their talk....

Kendra: I grinned at Raphael's energy, glad he seemed to be having a good time. I occasionally leapt over bushes or fallen trees for fun, not bothering to move around them even though i could. My black and red hair whipped out behind me as i ran, bleaching and darkening again as i moved through patches of moonlight and back into shadows.

Raphael finnaly slowed at a small stream and lowered his head to drink. His tail swayed back and forth lazily. He honestly felt amazing at the moment.

Kendra: I stopped as Raphael did, catching my breath. Running like this was amazing. I wished i could just keep going forever, but i knew it was impossible. One, because even though i was now a lot stronger and faster than i was as a human, i still had my limits. And two, because the sun would come up eventually, at which point i would have to take cover. Still, it was a nice thing to think about.

Artemis finally turned, her eyes tortured as she faced him. "what?" she croaked, fighting hard not to relax under his touch

Raphael lifted his head and a mischevious glint appeared in his eyes. He struck the water with a paw, splashing Kendra.

James felt himself relax a little more. "Why are you doing this? You're the alpha female for heavens sake! Do you have any idea how worried I was? How worried the pack was?"

She couldn't help herself. Each breath hurt so bad... she didn't want to still be here, she didn't want to live. She pressed her head into his hand, remaining quiet, seeking something to dull the pain

James stayed silent and stayed where he was. He felt weak at the moment, a sensation he was very much agitated with. He just had to fall for the alpha female.....

At last artemis found it in herself to speak, "why did you save me?" she closed her eyes, letting the feel of his hand on her cheek distract her from unwanted memories

"I can't answer that." He honestly couldn't. She'd never let him near her again if she knew. His wolf growled at him, but didn't try to gain control as it usually did.

Droplets of water fell from her face, onto his hand "you shouldn't have done it" she wished "you really shouldn't have done it..."

James stroked her cheek lovingly. "I had to, or I would've parished as well...." He wiped away her tears.

Artemis looked up to him, confused, though she didn't question it. her eyes closed involuntarily as her heart gave a weak flutter. She curled in a ball, inadvertently scooting closer to him and his comforting presence

James wanted to hold her, but was afraid of her reaction and giving away what he had ment, so he settled with just stroking her cheek.

Artemis quickly fell back asleep, she wasn't completely out of the woods... not yet, at least.
She grew paler as her heart slowed. More whimpers fell from her lips and she curled around his hand, trying to banish the pain

James quitely ordered the healers to do what they could to ease the pain. He stayed by her side, his hand still stroking her cheek and tracing her jaw every once in a while.

Artemis stirred, hours later. She grimaced and opened her eyes, blinking in surprise as she saw james was still there. she remained still, just staring at him

James didn't look at her, just stared unseeingly out the window. He kept stroking her cheek, trying to comfort her and himself.

Artemis forced herself to sit up, swaying slightly. If she wasn't going to die, she had pack things she had to deal with

James put a hand on her shoulder. "The other betas are already taking care of things. It's what we're for." He gave a weak smile. "You need your rest."

Artemis watched him for a moment before slumping, giving in "you're still here" she noted, trying to make sense of it. "after all I've done to you, you're still here" she couldn't find any rational reason for his actions

James digged throug his mind for a reason he could safely give her. "You're the alpha female....the whole pack looks to you and Raphael..."
