NEHOI 12: Sci-Fi and Fantasy meet with a Crunch.

"Welcome to Near-Earth Hazardous Object Interceptor Twelve. We trust that your stay will be constructive and enjoyable."
The NEHOI (knee-hoy) scheme was designed to protect the Earth from comets and asteroids entering the system, arming them with high-speed tracking computers, low-yield nuclear missiles, and industrial-strength cutting lasers. You are members of the crew of NEHOI 12, a mixture of clones, robots, and old-fashioned humans. Cybernetic enhancements are commonplace.
The NEHOI is equipped with heavy-duty exo-suits and industrial mecha. None of this was designed for combat, but a cunning pilot with basic training can easily utilise them as weapons. This is particularly lucky considering what happens next.
The land of Fairy is not a myth. It is a bizarre, pan-dimensional star-ship created and sustained by the enigmatic Etoile Brillante du Matin (Bright morning star, Etoile for short). For reasons that should later become clear, Etoile has decided to attack the Earth once more. This time, however, he finds it defended. Fairy begins its attack on NEHOI 12 with ranged weapons, soon moving onto boarding parties when it finds itself outgunned.
You can take on the role of a crewmember, or one of the mythical shock-troops.
