Re: Practice Chat

I avoid him, keeping my eyes averted and my thoughts blank. It only left everything up to emotion, and I just tended to get frustrated at everything. My own emotions and the scenario and the people around me... And I know I'm retreating. I don't like this. I feel cornered, even if he's giving me the option. It isn't registering. It's a defense, focusing on what's comfortable to me. Even if that comfort is fears for me. If it makes his anxiety rise...

I take her hand and give it a small squeeze. "Hey," I say, "I'm not here to judge. I've done some stupid things in my time. Okay?" I let go of her hand and give a small smile.

I flinch away from his touch, hiding my hand behind my back slightly into the folds of my jacket. Taking in a breath, letting it out slowly, focusing on his fears. Feeling them in their small little corner blocked away by all those subconscious walls that I can so easily whip away. "Birds fly away..." I murmur quietly.
A puzzle. A bit of the Lazarus Pit's mark on me. Birds fly in a panic. Walls as birds, or me... "...I regret nothing that I've done."

Panic over comes me and I move away from her. "S-stop it," I say, closing my eyes only to have them shoot open wide in fear. My hand goes to my hair, trembling as I grab a tuff off it. "I SAID QUIT IT!!!" I shout.

I startle up at his yell, at Ace's growl, peering over to him. Gritting my teeth, taking a physical step back to snap my mental connection with the physical reminder. I regretted noting that I did, but I disliked the results all the time. Faded out again. Did the impulsive again. These were what I called my little black out moments. Going back to old habits without consideration of what they'd stir up.
My head snaps away, to the front door - at a different set of fears very familiar. "I see the fabric of what is normal just gets torn to shreds while I'm away..." He drops a bag, scowling at me. In his civilian clothes, basically looking like the brooding son of Gotham's most famous bachelor, is the Bratboy. "What are you still doing in that?" He asks me, because I exist when flaws are present to point out. "And not wearing your mask."
"If I remember right, it's us who had to teach you the concept of a secret identity..." I reply dryly, glaring at him with my red eyes.
Ace, meanwhile, had gone to greet, giving a convenient distraction from my raised point to topple his act of superiority. Or maybe he had just gone back to ignoring me, I never can tell...

I turn to look at Damian. "First off, how the hell do you know where I live?" I ask, resisting the temptation to check for trackers. "And secondly....what's with the bag...?"

"Hello to you too," I dismiss simply, glancing around the entry hall with my arms crossed, going through to the kitchen. Ignoring the dog, or at most giving it a scowl. It wasn't like every member of the family didn't have built in tracers for easy tracking or anything... "You think a training regimen ends at practice? ...What is this?" I wave a hand at the glasses and available yellow concoction in a pitcher. "No sugar; protein after exersize! It's like you haven't worked out a day in your life. ...And I figure I'd stop this one from slicing your neck in your sleep..."

"I've heard it enough from Father."
My one treat that can be found in my house the majority of the time. Can we criticise that too?
"And in my sleep? What makes you think you're staying?" I snap, crossing my arms in front of my chest.

"Oh I don't know... The scene I just walked in on was enough evidence for me that she still needs that padded cell in Arkham," I say to him, taking similar stance to him.
"She is right here and can speak for herself..." Fatgirl murmurs in the background. I can see her from the corner of my eye. Her body reads angry and unhinged as her eyes glare at me.

"Lets not start, I don't need Father coming home and finding the house a wreck. Now again, whats with the bag?" I state again.

"Do you severely lack common sense that much? I'm staying," I say bluntly.
"That is a genius plan right there, Bratboy," she hisses at me sarcastically.
I turn and sneer at her. "So long as you're staying..."
"I'm not."
"Please, I know how you work..." My eyes narrow at the blonde girl, who's eyes widen slightly as she tenses up in defense instead of attack.
"I'm not staying!" Chelsea snaps at me, moving to storm past towards the door.

"WHO SAID EITHER OF YOU WERE STAYING?!" I shout.
Uninvited guests. I'm not allowed to have guests.... let alone uninvited ones or pets...
If Father finds out....
Dear lord, they'll be here with him.
He's not going to like this, this is NOT okay! I don't even have room....I mean...Oh good grief....
(yeah his anxiety is probably rising x3)

I can tell how much he doesn't like the idea. Just stepping out onto the front stoop with Ace, I pause and lean against the house's side. Again, I breathe to calm - myself and him. Like Barbara showed me. A quick breath in, and then slowly out. Because we definitely needed to be able to think straight with the brat around...
"I've previously contacted the necessary people. Your father has granted me permission. He says," Damian goes on. And I nearly want to peg him in the head with a baseball bat...

Oh dear what was he thinking.
Authors, it had to be authors.
"...was Gh and BW involved?" I ask, slightly suspicious.
Theres no way he'd let them stay.

"How the hell should I know? Most likely? The two of them do have trouble keeping their fingers away from the plate..." Knives might just come down upon their pestering hands sooner or later, no matter how delicious some morsels might be.

I just give a distasteful scowl, glancing back at the door. "You want the mentally unstable ex-inmate of an insane asylum and previous partner to a murderous madman to sleep in the same house with you." It was not a question, nonono... Just his mere mentioning meant it was most likely going to happen. Because that was just how my luck seemed to work around this kid. I turn and walk back, grabbing my pack. "I'll be setting up my quarters in whatever available space you have..." I say before going off to discover what the rest of the house held.

"You're the one that said she was staying." I say, following him. " And," I say, putting my hand on the knob to the guest room to stop him. "If she is, shouldn't she get the room?"

"I said if she was staying. Don't think kicking her out is going to give me no reason to stay either..." I start, trying to push past him into the room. "She doesn't even sleep anymore anyway, and she likes staying outside at night being the fucking creeper that she is."

I roll my eyes and take a deep breath. "Fine," I say, annoyed. I push open the door and move aside so he can go through. I point out the bathroom to him. "Thats the bathroom."
Unfortunately hes not too far from my bedroom.

"Yes, I'm not blind," I dismiss, going past him into the room. Not blind at all to the obvious threat outside on the front porch ready to give a good mindfucking when ever she's feeling particularly off her rocker that hour of the day... I had advised my father and Oracle that she was unneeded in this operation, but I doubted that they would listen to me. Even if she was an enemy, I was the newest member to the family.

"then you can figure out that Father's bedroom, office, and the basement are off limits to you." I snap, crossing my arms and frowning.
Don't need bat boy being nosey while he is here.

There was another snide remark, something along the lines of not wanting to be a ghostly torture victim stuck in the basement before the a resoundingly rude closing of the door before there was a chance to respond. I stay on the porch, frowning at my phone with Babs' message of babysitting Damian.
I'd rather not...
RE: Maybe the country will do you good?
You are *really* trying to avoid the subject with that one. These people have a fascination with powers? I don't think I'll play well with them...
RE: Your power also isn't the most noticeable. Just don't use it?
'...Oops~,' I mouth as I type it in, eyebrows raising as I shake my head slightly with the guiltless expression of the fact. Pulling out my hairband, I tie up my blonde hair in a hasty bun. It felt hotter here than in the city, where the buildings concentrated the wind effect from the bay. I take off my jacket so it rested at my elbows, although nothing would really help unless I took off the bodysuit armor beneath my clothes.

I huff, wiping the bangs out of my eyes. I go downstairs and notice Chelsea sitting on the porch. Opening up the door and step outside, I sit down next to her. "Hey."

"Hello," I murmur back, not looking up from my phone. The screen brightens and displays the arrival of a new message, but I don't open it. Ace lays in the grass, raising his head to watch a meandering moth fly past. "I'm supposed to watch him..." Since the ten year old raised by assassins needed a caretaker, apparently. He could probably live on his own better than I could by now.
