Edgar:

This was going nowhere fast. Any incisions I made were immediately closed. I stopped for a moment and contemplated the problem. After a moment I had one other idea which may or may not produce results. "Alright, arm on my desk... We're going to improvise a guillotine and see if that will work... Though... I'll end up with dents all over my desk if not... but, that can be refilled with liquid concrete or whatever at a later date. " I hadn't paid for the desk so, really it wasn't my problem... Though I still considered it mine.

And if this wouldn't work... then we'd have a bit of an issue I'd have to look into, wouldn't we?

I hum a little giggle, putting my 'hand' down as he asks. "French were good for something, at least." Watching, I prepare to pull away when he cuts so my 'hand' or whatever piece he's cutting doesn't try to reform back to me.

Edgar:

"I have no idea what a "french" is... so, I couldn't tell you otherwise if I wanted to." I stated as I brought the piece of plastic down near the tips of her would be fingers, I wanted to use as little of her as possible, in case this resulted in some kind of unprecedented catastrophe. I had the tupperware ready in my other hand to drop on the sample in the same way one would trap a small insect or something I assume, though I have only ever read about insects briefly... and I do not know that that would actually work on them... but Again, I digress.

I pull back, observing as my substance simply takes the place of what was missing. "The French created the guillotine in my world. But other than that, they're a bunch of stuck up pompouses..."

Leaning down slightly, though not close enough in case there was some sort of magnetic effect for my molecules, I peek into the tupperware at my chopped off bit. It didn't seem to react to my proximity after being separated, though it beaded up instead of pooling out like a normal liquid.

"It acts like mercury," I observe for him before standing straight again.

Edgar:

Well. That worked nicely. I now had some quantity of sample under the tupperware, though I couldn't quite hear it. She described it as sharing characteristics with mercury, which I knew from research that mercury was strange and behaved oddly at room temperature. "Oh? They invented it? We thought it was made by the Internet. Odd." I commented regarding the French.

And now of course... to the actual science part. I left the tupperware facedown over our sample and reached for about a spoonful of the Silicon mix. I set that on the table and then slid a piece of paper underneath the tupperware before flipping it over. I heard it drop to the bottom of the tupperware with the force of gravity, but left the paper on top of it, lest it try to escape while I was pulling the spoonful of silicon towards it. I then slid the paper back just far enough to allow for the spoon and dumped the contents of the spoon into the tupperware.

"...Ideally we'd stir it or something..." I stated, uncertain as to whether we should do that or whether it would risk reunifying the segment with her...It didn't seem to want to move from this distance... but... I didn't want to underestimate it.

Theoretically, if I was magnitized or whatever keeps me together, it would want to rejoin with me when I got close. Experimentally, I wave my 'arm' beneath the container. I don't believe all of my parts to have a conscious enough for it to jump out, so it would just roll around on the bottom with my movements, wouldn't it? Though it remains stationary within the gray powder, except for what little it sways with Face's movements.

"I believe I actually have to touch it for it to rejoin with me," I conclude, moving my 'arm' back next to me.

Edgar:

I listened to her moving around the container experimentally. "It seems so." I corroborated. I cautiously removed the paper and nudged the contents of the tupperware around with my spoon.

"Watch that and tell me when all of the powder has unified with that piece of you." I asked as I stirred it. I don't think that I am much of a chef honestly...

I look over, about the same height, to see what he was doing. It was sort of weird to see, really. Maybe what I imagine to a normal person of watching their finger go round in some blender... But it does mix, which is good. He mentioned water before, which I really did not want to come into contact with.

"I believe that it is all mixed, Face," I say, looking over at him.

"Excellent. ...Now I believe... we wait about a half hour for it to set." I stated, recalling back to what had been read off to me earlier this evening.

How to pass a half hour... Theoretically I could read some more, though doing homework tended to make me want to commit violent crimes... and a half hour was hardly long enough for an educational torture session... "How would you like to kill this half hour?" I asked after I exhausted the mental list of things that I couldn't hope to accomplish in a half hour.

"Hmm..." I sit upon his desk again, looking at the sample like it might do something so soon, testing out forms again. "What do you usually do in this town?" Not much excitement here, as compared to Gotham, it felt like.

"I do very little here, aside from work. Occasionally I indulge in text based videogames, though most of the read aloud software is intolerably glitchy..." I didn't actually spend a whole lot of time... outdoors. It wasn't a pleasant experience for me, and I was sure that the outdoors felt that the feelings were mutual. "The outdoors and I tend to be greatly at odds with one another." I added, for clarification after a moment.

"I don't sleep on my own time... However, if you wanted to go explore the world on your own, I could do little to stop you once most of the monks are asleep for the evening." I responded. "And realistically nothing is stopping you during the day either, except for the threat of getting caught." I added after a moment.

"How goes the tupperware process?" I asked, wondering if it looked at all as though anything was actually happening. It wasn't often that I could sit and listen to things happen like this... most of my work took place in virtual space, so actually having my work as a... malleable product right in front of me instead of a string of numbers being read off for me to interpret, was a... interesting change of pace.

"Its barely been five minutes," I say, and without moving from sitting on the bed, I lean over the space between to the desk to glance in. "Though I honestly couldn't tell you. What is it supposed to turn into?"

At least I could wander, make my paths throughout the place for easy travel. After all, if we did require the...sink...then I would need to find my own way about so as not to get Face caught. He didn't wannt anyone seeing me within his room, I did not see any positive for someone seeing me following him around out in the open.

"It's suppoused to congeal...into some kind of rather fleshlike solid." I honestly didn't know if there was a way to observe the change or not... I was very bad with that whole: 'what most people can actually interpret with their eyes' part of things. "This takes longer when you're not simply compiling codes..." I stated.

"Well, finding out the texture of the thing would be your area of expertice, since I cant touch it, but it looks like same as when you left it," I state, crossing my 'arms' and 'looking' over at him with an unnatural twist of my 'neck' before looking over myself slightly. "Do you think you might be able to mix up colors for me, though I understand if you do not know what they are. There are tattoo inks that come in different hues though. While you play with your silicon, id rather like to play with those."

"I know of colours. In... theory. Light reflects off of surfaces and depending on the reflected light, colour is produced. I suppouse that if whatever you currently look like bothers you, We could invest in some pigmentation... but I rather think that we ought to solve the bigger issue of solidifying you first." And with that I went ahead and felt the contents of the tupperware. ...Sort of like melted Jello or something... definitely not quite liquid... but not really aptly quantifiable as solid either... I suppoused that we would have to wait the additional time to see if it turned into the fleshy solid that I was anticipating.

Priorities in order, of course... "I am simply very conspicuous this way, and I would like to be less so," I say bluntly, tilting my head as I watch him. We contrasted greatly, didn't we? Pure black and pure white.... Sort of...poetic...existing for each mother's benefit like this. There was the Yin and Yang... but that was balancing forces of light and dark, and really, both of us were very black souls...

This was turning drab... Running out of questions for him, so I simply lapse into a temporary silence. "Any questions for me?" I ask him. Such an intellectual yet he doesn't ask a whole lot, does he?

Edgar:

Did I have questions for her? ... Typically I never asked anyone anything... Because, I am not one to care about anyone, or their personal habits or... whatever irritating affectations they were prone to exhibit. It just... wasn't... my... problem. "I am not accustomed to asking people personal questions... or indeed, to asking people many questions at all. In most cases, I simply don't care. However, considering that you seem to be staying here for the time being... Firstly, can you tell me any more about your chemical composition? Secondly, I would like to inquire as to your living habits. What do you do to pass your time, is it noisy, and will it make me want to throw your head through a wall?" I thought that those were adequate questions... though quite honestly I am not the expert on usual exchanges between people, so, I could have been quite far off. I waited calmly for a response.

Hmm... how to explain myself... "I started as an attempted poisoning to a girl with the rather fun ability to sense a person's fears. And then various exposure to unknown chemicals... in my world, they were called Joker Poison and Fear Gas." I pause, thinking a moment. "I'm not exactly sure when I gained my own consciousness..."

"And I'm quiet, not to worry. I do not need sleep, which was why I wanted to wander instead of waiting more. So I'm used to doing nothing, really."

"That is very interesting." I stated, with regard to the chemical history. "And, with regard to doing nothing... I'm certain that you could probably figure out something to keep yourself occupied... Perhaps working on your literacy...? It would prove to be indispensable, I think." I informed her. I was uncertain as to how many more enigmatic user guides we would encounter that I wouldn't be able to order with a braille translation... and as such, having someone who could actually read in English would prove to be most useful.

I was uncertain as to what else someone would ask in a situation like this. "Are there any more inquiries typical of social situations like these?" I asked finally after several moments of contemplation.

Reading? There was a lot around here, I observed as I glanced around again, though it didn't hold much interest for me. But if it helped this process along, I could 'bite' the bullet.
Which sort of popped up a question. "What else do you have in school, besides literature and history?" I ask immediately following his question, which I don't pay much attention to.

"We have mathematics, Programming, assorted electives, Dialectic jeje; though that is also an elective..." I listed off to her in response to her question which was only tangentally related to my own, and had nothing to do with my second question. Though it did rather nullify my need to ask the second question, since it allowed for more dialogue to be brought about without me initiating.
