Re: Wolfsbane
Jarrod stayed close to the trail. His arms were killing him and he needed sleep but at the moment he couldnt get it. He walked for what seemed like miles. Just him and his thought.

My ears prick up slightly with the sound of footsteps. Skilled footsteps, those which avoided the twigs on the ground and crunch of the little areas of snow still left from winter. Downwind, however... Human or wolf... It certainly wasn't a Banshee, as they were nearly impossible to hear as they moved. I pause. The wolf would smell the blood... The bear was mine, though. In the back of my throat, I give a low growl and stalk on, following the bloody prints.

The sound of a low growl from a distanst quickened my heartbeat. I hurried silently through the woods. A trail of bloody footprints were on the ground and I gave a cruel smile. "got you.." I whispered. I took off in the direction of them.
My hands gripped my bow as I hurried. My breath fogged the air which I tried to stop and breathe lightly. Steam from my breath migth as well be a smoke signal saying im here come get me!

Two legs and in pursuit. Little human Hunter. Inexperienced, all by themself after a Pureblood. It was easily seen from my tracks that I wasn't some normal Infected wolf. And the night woods was my domain. I rise to my back legs, taking a few steps to place my front paw on a tree and drag my claws across as a warning. Don't interrupt my hunt.

I saw the wolf and aimed my bow at it. My eyes became hard as did my heart. "I will shoot." I said in a cold voice. I tried to keep myself from shaking. My mind was trying to turn on me.. telling me to dro the weapon.

There's a rumble from the back of my throat as I turn and glare at her, still standing on my rear legs. For our size, Purebloods were surprisingly fast. An arrow would be an easy thing to dodge. The question was if I really wanted to waste time killing this girl or not... That bear was bigger, most likely more challenging even if she was a Hunter. On the other hand, she was...ravishing... My nose flairs at her, although she remained downwind. My claws flex, digging into the tree at the predicament.

I aimed for it. I let out a soft icy breath and watched it with my trained eye. I knew that if I was going to take a shot... I would have to take it now. I aimed and took a shot right between its eyes.

I grumble and whine, making my choice. I close my eyes a moment, feeling my natural form change into the more foreign. The human my parents cursed me with. "You would shoot a man?" I ask her, opening my eyes to study her. We weren't humans, we were wolves. Our reflexes and senses stayed just as advanced as they were in our natural form. To talk... I nearly twist my face in disgust.

I watched this all take place. I felt my bow leave my hands and I pulled out my knife. "Who are you?" I asked my voice chillling. The cold was getting to me. I started to shiver and shake. I tried to hold the knife steady

"My parents named me Jonathan," I tell her, although I have absolutely no connection to the name. It was something human, and it disgusted me. They tried to control me with it.

I watched him. I felt like I could believe him. But I knew better. "Jonathan...?" I asked with a headtilt. "Real name?"

"Despite what your Banshees and Hunter leaders may tell you, we are more than animals..." I tell her, my eyes glinting amused. "My name. Is Jonathan. Jonathan Bane." I lean back against the tree, my claw marks above my head an extra foot while I was already nearly six feet tall.

I watched him and held onto my dagger just in case. "Bane..." I whispered. My breath clung to the air and filled the air. I watched it as it keeps comming. "Why Bane..?"

"It's my last name," I answer her condescendingly, smirking a little in a chuckle. She was getting cold. Trying to hide her shaking and the attention she had on her breath, the small puffs of vapor from her mouth... This far in the woods, without a fire and shelter soon...was a deadly combination this far north...

My eyes flickered to his smirk and back around. I had come this way by myself... I thought it would be an easy hunt.. but I was wrong. I tried as hard as I could to hide it from him. "Last is as good as the first." I said through clentched teeth.

"I really don't care what the hell you call me in your diary, little Hunter. You're not killing me. It's life and death in more than one way. Go after me, you waste what little warmth left from today, and by the end of it your fingers will be so numb and shaking you wont be able to hold a match to strike for fire. And youre too far away from the nearest town to make it back in time before going into cold Death's sleep. If you even survive; I'm not against killing in my self defense ... You are in the wrong when you kill us. Murderer." The cold did not bother me. Surviving in this land was as easy as breathing for me. She was stupid for doing this, a lapse of common sense. Humans ignore their instincts, and they make mistakes like this. Weak...

My eyes harden and I clentched my bow in my hands. "Hunting.. is second nature puppy. Now hush your self." I said with a bright grin. I looked up at him and gave a slight headtilt. "I am not in the wrong of killing any of you.. You kill man.. man kills you. ITS A CYCLE!" I yelled. My entire body started to shake and I could'nt hide it. I looked down and broke my tough girl act. I was frightened.. I was scared.. this was why I hadn't been able to kill anything.. or anyone for that matter.

I laugh at her lightly, turning to follow the bear's bloody tracks. "I can't kill man if I never encounter one... I'm following no man -" I point at the tracks. Nothing up here had a track like that other than a bear, or another wolf. "-It's you following me." My eyes wander back to her, and I smile a fanged smile as I take a slight step towards her.

I watched him and wanted to take a step bak but I couldn't. My body wasn't working right at the moment. Fear and the cold were playing against me. "Wh-what are y-you d-doing?" I asked through chattering teeth.

"I had been looking to kill a bear before..." I start, taking another step forward. "...You intrigue me, however..." Shifting, I pace ever so slowly closer, a low rumble going through my chest and barely using my forearms to walk. My nose flairs, trying to scent her past the wind which was against me. It was getting stronger in the night.

I couldn't breathe. I wanted to step back but.. I couldn't. My body had been frozen in place. "Why... intrigue?" I asked though chattering teeth again. My bow stayed in my hand but I didn't know if I could use it.

I paced ever closer, still slow, not wanting to face her back as then I may just not be able to hold back attacking her. And then standing over her... with her scent, finally...
With something else.
I whip around and growl, deadly low. Banshee... Glancing back at her a second, I go down on all fours - though still two feet higher than she - then dash around her and disappear into the coming dark.
Zepour
There had been a wolf here, I could smell it. That was not the mission at the time, however, the stupid girl made sure of that. "Do you never listen to your protocols, human?" I snap, approaching. She was shivering, not simply from the cold. I could smell the fear on her and it was disgusting. Wielding a cute little bow and arrow, but by now the arrow was jumping upon it's knock from her ridiculous sniveling. Against a Pureblood? Against an Infected, even, it was useless unless it was by surprise. And a human, sneaking up on a wolf? What a laughable concept.

I watched the man who came out of the bushes. "Who.." I clamped my outh shut. " I ... um..." Dark spots infused my vision. I couldn't breathe. The earth was spining faster and soon the darkness took over. I felt myself falling and thats all I remember.

I scowl, picking her up over my shoulder harshly to find a more secure location. I had seen a good nook within an outcropping of rock I had passed not far off. It was a slight trek, but I found my way through my footprints in the snow. Despite traveling silently, I still left my physical mark on the place.
It was protected from the easternly wind and sheltered from any rain, or more likely snow, that the night and northwestern weather may give us. I plop the human girl down against the rock wall, setting up and striking the fire into being so that the stone would reflect the heat at her. With my back to the nook, I look out to the night with a careful and harsh gaze.
We only needed that Pureblood to track us here... I glance back at the stupid woman. I did not understand why the Guild wanted humans while we Banshees were clearly more advanced at hunting these creatures. We were bound by the oath of our ancestors to serve the humans, however. So they got the false pretense they were superior to us. Which gave us useless missions to go out and find the dumb ones who attempted to hunt a wolf on their own...

I woke up gasping for air. My eyes opened and I looked aorund the place. My heart was pounding my chest. The.. vision.. deam whatever you would call it was.. too real. My eyes slowly adjusted to the lack of light and my eyes landed on the guy.
I quickly looked down and pulled my knees to my chest. My muscles screamed in protest and I locked my jaw.
Everything was hurting.. even my lips felt like they had pins and needles in them.
I didnt say anything for a very long time. "Thank you...." I whispered.
