There's always something to hear about quirky Blue Street in a small town like this. With the largest selection of shops for miles, though it's actually only five in total, the place is really something to talk about. But even out of the context of the little, boring town, Blue Street is something special. Extraordinary even. The people who live there are unlike people you will meet anywhere else, with pasts and personalities so out of the norm that you'll leave wondering if you'll ever find a place like it again. And if you don't, and you go back to Blue Street, will it be where you left it?

Or is it all rumors?
Blue Street is probably really normal.
Probably.

The Shops of Blue Street:

The Cinnamon Cafe
An ideal breakfast and lunchtime location, with odd, mismatched furniture and picture windows made for people watching. Matched with a staff of locals, supervised by Mr. Cinnamon -- that crabby, middle-aged man that tends to have mood swings --, the place is known for it's snicker doodle cookies and clumsy service. If you have a knack for spilling coffee on customers and tripping on the shoelaces of sleep-deprived businessmen, apply for a job today!

Slots:
Girl [Bells] Rain
Boy [Avery] Roman
Wild Card [Momo] (boy) Kyhan

Kane Music
Though dubstep and Lady Gaga are foreign to a dusty town like this, you can certainly find some old-fashioned Beatles or Bob Marley up in here. Of course, the young folk that man the cash registers can hook you up with the more "hip" music if you ask. Though most people visit this place for it's wide selection of instruments, with an especially large range of guitars.

Slots:
Girl [Momo] Terra
Boy [Bells] Eric
Wild Card [alice] Parker

Cranford Books
Known as the only bookstore in town where you can read without buying -- or without being thrown out by fancy security guards -- Cranford is a cheerful, homey place, complete with a smiling old couple resembling everyone's grandparents. Though they've gotten to the age where they won't climb the ladder to get you that hard-to-reach book, they'll help you find anything else, and if it is out of reach then their young employees will be at your service. Just say please.

Slots:
Girl [Avery] Ellie
Boy [Momo] Malik
Wild Card (boy) [Kid]

The Blue Street Inn (Restaurant)
The classiest place in this strip of town, the Blue Street Inn has been around for ages, passed through the Worthington family for years. Though the owners are a bit shady, the service and food found here is top-notch. And if you're just looking for a place to relax and listen to live or classical music, there's a bar out back -- just be sure to slip the bartender a little extra if you're under 21.

Slots:
Girl [Avery] Clara
Boy [Kid]
Wild Card [Alice] (boy) Nick

Thread Bare
Known for it's eclectic feel, not quite a pawn shop and not quite designer brand, Thread Bare is the place to go when you're in the mood to burn a hole in your pocket. Though second-hand and under-priced, the place is known for the best quality they can find and also the best prices. Most enter for one article of clothing, and come out with five.

Slots:
Girl [Momo] Vinnie
Boy [Alice] Daniel
Wild Card [Avery] (girl) Harlow

Housing
Though only a short few blocks, there are many options when it comes to living along the Street of Blue.

Carnegie Commons
Don't let the name fool you -- though named for the exquisite location in New York, Carnegie commons are the low end apartments found behind the Cinnamon Cafe and caddy-corner from Kane music. Complete with deteriorating brick walls and rusting fire escapes, the apartments work townhouse style -- the house is cut down the middle size-wise, with a kitchen, living room, bathroom, and bedroom on either side. Perfect for newcomers to town, or college students without jobs, Carnegie welcomes those who don't mind having to keep their doors locked at night and their money in a safe (just in case.)

Apartments Available:
Apartment One
Half A [Parker]
Half B [Ellie]
Apartment Two
Half A [Malik]
Half B [Roman]
Apartment Three
Half A [Vinnie]
Half B [Caleb]
Apartment Four
Half A [Open]
Half B [Open]

Blue Street Suites
Though they consist of about the same amount of space as the Carnegie Commons apartments do, the Blue Street Suites are located about the Blue Street Inn, and give an exhilarating view of the city (aka, highways to the North, fields to the South, and sketchy buildings East and West.) Given to workers of the Blue Street Inn at a discounted price, normal folk can also pay rent on a Blue Street Suite, where they can spend the nights desperately trying to get sleep over the roar of the drunkards and late-night lawyers in the restaurant below.

Suite One [Alice's boys]
Suite Two [Clara]
Suite Three [Rain]

Kane Road
A small strip of afforable houses for the middle class family. Small, few room houses with a bath and a half. Enough to hold up to for people comfortably. On the smaller side of average.

House One [Open]
House Two [Terra]
House Three [Open]

Cambridge Circle
The only expensive living option around is the houses behind the Blue Street Inn. Those who move into one of them will be neighbors with the old couple from Cranford, the crabby man from Cinnamon Cafe, and Mr. Worthington himself (along with his family of eight+) Thankfully, most of these houses are far too expensive and out of reach for most that move here, so you won't have to worry about having such odd neighbors.

House One [Arron]
House Two [Kyahn]
House Three [Harlow]

Terra
Terra ran around her room, preparing for her day. Clothing was askew everywhere, mostly on the floor outside her closet and the chair next to her desk. On her desk were sheets of music and cd’s as well as colorful sharpie pens that littered the white surface. The colors of the sharpies were scribbled on the desk in quick doodles and names. The words and doodles were the only real color in the girl’s room. Everything else, from the bed spread to the walls to the ceiling, was a brilliant white.

“Terra!” A voice screeched up the steps. Her mom. The girl tried to annoy it as she pulled her clothing for the day on. A simple, long purple and teal shirt-dress was pulled over her teal leggings. Purple sandal wedges were pulled on to compliment the outfit. Her purple ear-buds were draped around her neck and plugged into her five-year-old classic iPod that held all her favorite music. “Terra!” Her mother bellowed again, causing the girl to open her door.

“I’LL BE RIGHT DOWN MOM!” The girl screamed back.

“What is taking so long?” The bitter lady demanded.

“Getting ready for the day!” After that the house fell silent for a few moments.

“You gonna go slack off again?! You know, it takes a lot of good money to keep a roof over your head, young missy!” Terra didn’t even bother to call back to tell her that she was going to her job. No, her mom would never believe that.

“Yes mom. I am going off to do nothing with my life, just like you.” The girl growled under her breath as she got ready. She finished her colorful outfit off with a pair of sunglasses on her head. For a girl who loved color so much, her room was very bland, minus the counter of the desk.

“Terra!” Her mom screamed again. The girl stormed out of the room, slammed the door behind her and made sure to lock it before going down the steps.

“Don’t worry; I’m leaving for the day now. I’ll keep out of your hair.” Her father sat on the couch, unspoken as usual. She left the house with a sigh and walked down to the cafe to get her morning coffee before work.

--
Malik
Malik sat in the back corner of Cranford books and flipped through the pages of the first volume of Deathnote. The manga was one of his favorite stories of all time, even if it was a bit slow moving at times in his opinion. He lost count on how many times he had actually read this volume.

The slightly nerdy boy always came to the store early to open up and read in his own little corner. It was his own little escape from life and from living in a place like Blue Street. Some people loved it here, loved the small community. Others, like him, wanted to get away. But there was nothing he could do to escape this. He had little money to his name, especially after his family issue that got him his own apartment. But now he was so low on money that leaving wasn’t an option. Not for a few years at least.

A sigh escaped his lips as he continued to read. It was so lonely here sometimes.

--
Vinnie
Vinnie sat at the table with her mom over a silent breakfast. Neither of them spoke much as they chewed their cereal and sipped at their morning coffee. Her mom didn’t bother to ask about school or work, and Vinnie had no interest in her mom’s life this morning. So, like most meals, they sat in silence.

Once the girl finished, she brought her used dishes to the sink and started to clean them.

“I wish you would dress like a girl.” Her mom finally spoke, after watching her daughter work for a few minutes. Vinnie sighed. This conversation again.

“Mom, I like how I dress. Please leave it be.” The girl finished her morning chores and dried her hans before pulling her vest on over her burgundy colored shirt.

“But you would look so pretty in a nice dress. How about a red one? It would complement your skin so well.” Her mom coaxed the girl yet again to wear what she deemed as ‘normal’ clothing. “I mean, for Christ’s sake, you work at a clothing store!”

“Mom, enough!” The girl slammed her fist down on the table and kept her back to her mother. A few Italian swears left her mom’s lips at the girls reaction. "I'm gonna head to work now. See you when I get home." She offered a small smile to show that she wasnt all that mad before leaving the house and locking the door behind her.

Rain

"I'm jus' so sorry, mister!" Rain continued to gush as she dabbed at the customers suit. "I didn't mean fer that coffee ta just go flyin' like that, you'd hav' thought it was som' kin'a bird er somethin'."

A slight blush rose to her cheeks as the man continued to sputter curses, batting her hand away and drawing himself to his feet. Without another word he pushed the ten across the table that he'd laid there to pay for his small meal. Seizing his briefcase from beside the table, the man left without another word.

"Well, go 'head an b' that way then." She muttered, then sighed, glancing down at the huge mess she'd managed to make. "Guess I shou' git to cleanin' this up."

Heading back into the kitchen with her tray, she searched the closet until she located the mop bucket, and the mop. Heading back out she managed to fall again, only all the way down this time, doing a brilliant face plant because of slipping on the coffee she'd split only moments ago.

"...wonderful..."

At that moment she heard the door open. Glancing up she felt a blush flood into her cheeks as she scrambled back onto her feet.

"'ello miss, sorry fer this 'ere mess. Jus' take a sea' anywhere ya like."

******************

Eric

"Clothes, check." He muttered, sniffing the shirt in his hands before slipping it over his head and searching for some shoes to slip on.

It didn't help his day at all when his alarm didn't go of. The freaking thing seemed to be broken now, seeing as what was supposed to be the current time, was just flashing 2...2...2...

Grumbling to himself he started towards the door, gripping the old portable CD player off of the table by his apartment door, and the hoodie that had been just dropped next to it. He hesitated, taking a whiff of that piece of clothing as well. Frowning a little he tossed it aside, running back into his room and locating a black one with an old band on the front before sticking the CD player in the pocket and heading out the front door.

As long as he wasn't late again, he'd be good..

I’m not a mess. I’m not a mess. I can remember everything. I can do this. Ellie was never a morning person. She pulled her hair back quickly, her bangs falling in her eyes. Within minutes, she was finishing her morning routine and put the finishing touches on her makeup. She grabbed everything she needed and went out to her car, warming it up for a moment. She went back into her apartment and double checked her mental list, before running out the door. She made one stop at a daycare nearby, and then pulled in to work. When she walked into the building, she was immediately hit by the smell of old books and even older furniture. She found her place behind the counter, waiting for costumers to start arriving.

Clara got to work a bit early, searching for a clean apron and her newest name tag. No, she didn’t lose them. Someone stole them. That was her story and she was sticking to it. She glances at the other waiters, and flirted lightly before getting back to work. She wasted a bit of time rolling silverware and wiping cups. She really had no interest in going out and actually working, but she never skipped. Her mother taught her better than that. She waited until someone shooed her off to a table and went through the usual drill.

“Late. Again. Fuck,” Sabre mumbled under her breath and she hustled into Thread Bare. She was still in her shirt from the day before, cramming too much last night for an online class. She had just graduated and enrolled in a summer class to help her look better for college in the fall. She sat behind the counter, eyes falling on the main room. There were never a ton of costumers in the morning, so it was kind of like down time. Later she’d have to put on a fake smile and ask people how she could help them. Occasionally, she’d get the odd compliment about her hair or something and she might actually smile, but she never really counted on it.

Roman caught the fleeting dirty glare of a man who had obviously been waiting too long for something, but he wasn't about to do something about it. His spot was at the register and the last time he had left to try and help someone out, he was yelled at. One more slip, his boss said, and the job would be gone. He wasn't particularly sure how it had been a slip, but he wasn't going to test his limits or anything. He was surely smarter than that. He wrung his hands and cashed out a woman who was waiting for her coffee.

Nicolas looked around and took in a deep breath. Nothing was making sense anymore. I looked over at my brother who was getting ready for work. I chuckled and watched him. "Hey genius might wanna put your pants on right." I said. He looked in the mirrior and groaned. I smirked. "Nice job." I said.

Parker walked into Kane Music. Her entire body groaned with every step she took. She sighed and laid down her bag and again.. her body moaned in protest. She let out another frustrated sigh. Running... Runnning always did this to her.. but she needed some way to burn off the adrenline. She walked behind the counter and laid her head on it. It was cool to the touch and it felt better then anything at the moment.

I'm really sorry to say this but all the positions in this chat are taken for the time being. Alice's characters took up the last three spots.

Terra

"I'm actually in a bit of a rush. If I could just get something to go that would be fantastic." She offered a small smile and shifted her bag on her back. She looked over the menu to try and figure out what she wanted. An iced latte sounded wonderful right now. But what flavor? Oh how she missed the days were getting a coffee in the morning was so much easier. "A mocha iced latte if that is alright. With a dash of cinnamon?" She always felt like her order was too complicated, when in all actuality, it could be a lot worse.

(so, gonna try to get this back up, guys!!!)

Rain

"Alrigh', miss," Rain said, straightening out her clothes with a sheepish smile, blush still creeping over her cheeks. "I'll git tha' righ' now. You jus' res' yer feet an' I'll be bein' righ' back."

Offering a large smile she did her best to ignore the coffee stains now covering the front of her outfit, hurrying back to the drink station as quick as she could. It didn't take long for her to mix the drink; a skill that managed to keep her, her job even with all the accidents that seemed magnetized to her.

"'ere's yer drink, Miss. Nic'n'quick."
