"Hey Luca!" I called and caught up with him, but had no idea why.

Luca: "Oh, hey. How are you?" I asked.

Mandy: "Good," I said, realizing this might be awkward. What were we supposed to talk about "How's the math coming?" LAME.

Luca: "It's going okay. . .I'm not failing the class anymore. What kind of stuff are you into?"

Mandy: "Danc -...Debate Club! Yup, love to debate," I quickly covered my stumble, having almost admitted to taking dance class. Nerds weren't allowed to like dance.

Luca: "Really? I almost thought I just heard you start to say 'dance'"

Mandy: "Nope, Debate Club all the way! We won first place in last week's, er, match," I lied.

Luca: "That's cool. You probably already know that I love soccer."

Mandy: "Yeah, I've come to every ga - Yeah, I know," I slipped up again.

Luca: I laughed a bit. "Well, at least I know that some people care about what the 'foreign kid' does."

Mandy: "Actually, a lot of people do - especially the girls. Who doesn't love an accent?" I shrugged.

Luca: "Oh right, the dreaded accent." I chuckled, "Most girls love the Brits though."

Mandy: "British accents ARE pretty cute," I shrugged.

Luca: "Exactly what I'm talking about." I laughed a bit. I looked at the clock. . .almost a minute before class started. "Uh. . ." I muttered.

Mandy: "Bye!" I said quickly and began to walk off.

Luca: I waved, but I wasn't sure she saw me. I shoved my way through the halls, and I barely made it on time to my class.

Luca: I sat down at the nearest table with my lunch. It was strangely quiet in the cafeteria, and I felt nervous about it. What was this awkward silence about?

Mandy: The lunchroom was really - Oh, that's right most of the jocks had volunteered to do this field trip thing, and the Debate Club was at a meet. I looked around the room and saw none of my friends...then I saw Luca. I bit my lip and tentatively walked over. "Can I sit here? All of my friends are on that field trip, or at the meet..."

Luca: "Oh, sure. All my friends are sick today. . .or so they told me."

Mandy: "You think they all really got sick?" I raised my eyebrows as I sat down across from him. OMG I'M SITTING WITH LUCA!!

Luca: "I doubt it. They probably just didn't want to come to school today."

Mandy: I nodded "Or they went on that field trip...?"
