Mandy: When I got to math to math I realized there was an extra book in my stack. I frowned in confusion, and opened it up to see Luca's name printed on the inside cover. Hmm...he had nice handwriting. But more importantly, I had a reason to talk to him again! My heart skipped a beat and it seemed like an eternity before class ended.

When the bell finally rung I gathered up my books, including Luca's, and headed for the door. He had said he had study hall, so I walked to the room study hall was kept in. When he walked out I tapped him on the shoulder and held out his book, my hand shaking a little. I smiled "Here, you accidentally dropped this in the hallway earlier - but don't worry, I picked it up!"

Luca: I saw Mandy with my book, and I got up and retrieved it. "Oh, thanks. I thought I had forgotten it at home or something." I smiled. I paused and looked at her for a minute. "So, what are you doing later?"

Mandy: "What?!" That caught me off guard and I blurted, but quickly pressed my lips together. Had I heard him right? Still, I couldn't tell him the truth - about my dance classes - so I lied and said "I have a student council meeting."

Luca: "Oh, well. See you some other time?"

Mandy: I bit my lip over a curious smile "Why did you ask what I was doing later?" I just wanted him to say it out loud so I would know I wasn't crazy...

Luca: "Well, I didn't have any plans. . .and I wanted to make some." I replied. I could have came up with a better answer, but I decided to leave it as bland as possible.

Mandy: "Oh, okay," Mandy shrugged and turned to go "Yeah...maybe we can hang out sometime..." Her cheeks burned, so she was glad she had turned away.

Luca: I looked the other way, and I walked to my locker. I opened the lock, and I stuffed my school items inside. It was finally time to get out of this place.

(hohum)

(Hmm. . .let's say Mandy wrote her phone number on a slip of paper in Luca's book? That would be funny XD )

A few hours later. . .

Luca: I looked inside my math book so I could do the homework, and I find this sheet of paper with a phone number on it. "What the hell?" I muttered as I picked up my cell phone. I dialed the number, and waited for someone to answer.

Mandy: "Hello?" I answered in confusion, not recognizing the number.

(I'm gonna pretend that one of her friends put the number in - knowing the book was Luca's - because Mandy isn't that big of a flirt)

(Oh, okay. It's still pretty funny though XD )

Luca: "How did this number get in my text book." I went straight to the point. It was not funny when a random number ended up in MY book.

Mandy: "I have no idea," I trailed off, trying to think this through. Lena had borrowed my books and - OH. "Sorry, just one of my friends playing a stupid prank."

Luca: This was Mandy's number? "Oh, well. I just wanted to know who's number this was, that's all. Sorry for the random phone call."

Mandy: "It's okay," I bit my lip. Now that Luca was on the phone, I kind of wanted to see if he'd talk to me..."So, what are you up to? Besides calling random numbers, I mean."

Luca: I chuckled a bit, "Well, I was about to do homework. . .but I really don't get this math stuff." I slammed my book shut.

Mandy: "Really? Maybe I can help you, I'm in advanced math - so you're math, technically. Not today obviously, but I could help you tomorrow?"

Luca: "Sure, you can help me tomorrow. I just don't understand all these stupid equations and whatnot."

Mandy: "Yeah, I can see how they'd be hard for you," I said absently, then noticed that could be offensive. I blushed, and was glad he couldn't see it. "I mean, not that you aren't smart or anything, but..."

Luca: "I'll admit that I'm stupid at math. You're probably better at it than I am."

Mandy: "Maybe, anyway...see you tomorrow, then? When do you want to study? After school?"

Luca: "After school probably would be best."

Mandy: "Okay, in the library?" I winced, that sounded so lame! But where else would we go?
