T h e • O u t s i d e

Ambrosia - I look into her eyes and wonder how I know her.

(How do they know eachother? Just how I know how she should react.)

(I don't know, do you have any ideas? Maybe she was the one who put Ambrosia there in the first place???)

No clue, I admittedly thought sisters that had a lot of years between them. Like Cassandra came and then Cassandra's mom dropped off new born Ambrosia some years later. She would've left the orphange when Ambrosia was still little, maybe eight?

OH! Good idea! I like that!

K, cool. She was a little livelier back then and had longer hair. She also showed her her "imaginary friends," but stopped became the way she is after a certain incident happened the year before she left.

Cassandra: My eyes widen a bit as I spot her in the crowd. Ambrosia. I swallow and close my eyes for a moment when I realize I'm tearing up a bit, thinking about the woman with the black trench coat and burnt match dust smeared across her eyes as she forced a baby into my arms. I start again. "...And I will be your new counselor here," I say as I try to reclaim my smile.

Ambrosia - I recognize her then. It was my sister. "Cass," I whisper.

James - I hear Ambrosia and my eyes widen, "It can't be," I whisper to myself.

Cassandra: Recognition hits her face and suddenly, I can't breathe.
"Thank you," I say and try my best to wait until most of the people have left before I try to escape. Out of the corner of my eye, I see Mrs. Devou frown. My speech my was supposed to be longer, was supposed to actually be empowering. "Do you think you'll be able to handle this, Cassandra?" she asks frankly. My eyes lower to the ground. "Yes, of course," I murmur. I don't have a choice. This the only place that would take me.

Ambrosia - I stay after everyone has left and hide behind objects as I watch my sister and Mrs. Devou.

James - I watch Ambrosia hoping she isn't caught.

Cassandra: Mrs. Devou puts a finger under my chin and forces my to meet her gaze. "And I'm sure you're finally over all of your silly imaginations, yes? What was it you use to go on about? Twins and gardens and 'broken things,' yes? I amost thought you were mad." I bite my lip and look away again. They had been figments of my imagination, I think. That's it- a lonely girl's imagination. "Yes, of course, Mrs. Devou. I've long since gotten over that over active imagination of mine," I murmur. "It took me a bit, but I've finally grown up."

Ambrosia - I flinched. I still had that 'imagination' as they called it. I still talked to them. I still played with them. I still saw them.

Cassandra: "Good, I'm happy to hear this," says Mrs. Devou as she walls off. "Please take your things to the girl's dorm- that is where you'll be staying."
I nod yes and start to grab my bags. "Is that her, brother? I haven't seen her in so long." "But that is her, yes. I do believe it is." "She's cut off her hair. I liked it better when it was long." "Yes, I do too. Now she looks like one of them." My fingers tremble and I turn around. But it's nothing, I think. Only nothing. After a moment, I pick up my things and hurry off the the girl's dorm.

Ambrosia - I hear the two boys. The two that, ever since Cass left, I have spoken to. I look at them.

Moon- Khonsu (Egyption moon god) Moves slowly and hymorocally, voice is the same, never seems to get upset, graceful.
Sun- Helios (Greek sun god.) Agressive, movements are sharp and pointed, voice can sometimes be perceived as harsh.

Khonsu and Helios: "Why didn't you say hi, Ambrosia?" asks Khonsu as he drapes himself over a chair. "Do you miss her?" asks Helios. "Of course she does." "And yet she looks upset." "So very upset." "She isn't smiling at all." "I wonder why," they both say.

Ambrosia - "She's changed so much," I frown some more as I sigh.

"True, she has gotten ruder," says Helios. "And yet that's what she was like after we got her into trouble." "That is correct." "But did you miss her,
brother?" "Of course I did, brother. She named us." "Yes, that is also true. Hm, this is very sad." "Very sad indeed." "But still, I want to go say hello."

Ambrosia - "She means a lot to you two," I smile a little.

"Of course," they both say as they stand up. "So let's go see her Ambrosia." "Yes, let's go see her. She's staying in your room, right?" "But Ambrosia said we couldn't go in there after we saw those people getting dressed." "But that wasn't for always." "That was for then." "So, Ambrosia." They put their hands on their
hips and look down at her. "Let's go to your room."

Ambrosia - I sigh, "Fine, but you two better not sneak in there again," I smile at them remembering.

"What? Never!" they both say. "We are perfect gentlemen." They follow the girl back up the stairs to the girl's dorm.

Cassandra: I can't help myself as I put my backpack under the bed. I sitck my head under and look towards the wall. "Why not be immortalized," the voices had said. "Why not let them all know that you were alive?" I fingers trace the name carved into the wall. "Cassandra of the Cannibals." I smile to myself, thinking of the memories.

Ambrosia - I walk into the room and see Cass, "Hi," I say quietly.

Cassandra: My head bumps on the bed frame as I try to get up. I slowly pull out of the bed and touch my head, wincing. "O-owie," I murmur from habit. I frown as my sister and go bavk to folding clothes. "Hello," I say. "But shouldn't you be doing chores now?" The shirt is ripped from my hands by golden and black arms. "Boring," the twins sigh as they goss it over their shoulder before they start to rummage through my clothes. I take a step back, eyes wide. They don't exist...

Ambrosia - "They do to!" I say angrily at her. I saw the look on her face, the look that means she's convincing herself they aren't real. "They're real."

Cassandra: I frown and start picking up my clothes again. "No, they don't," I say. They both look up at me, covered in my clothes after they'd begun throwing them at eachother. One touches my face and I pull away. "Helios, cut it out!" I yell and then cover my mouth. I'm yelling at nothing, I think. I've really gone off the deep end.

Ambrosia - "Don't yell at them! You can't yell at them if you don't believe anymore!" I snap. Tears are falling down my face.
