I'm glad I made my bed before Carter pulled me away, but I'm still freaking out as she enters our room

The Duboe eyes everyone suspiciously, the only sound being the little boy crying from Cassandra's skirts. She starts down the first aisle of girls and immediately picks out two.

She hadn't reached me quite yet, though she was one bed over... I stiffened as she reached me, every muscle in my body ridged

Do you want her to pass or no?

Hm... no?

Maybe she even just makes something up so she can have another go at her

Duboe approaches her, trying to keep down the smirk. And so, she'd finally
come to /her/. She gently touches the sheets, her eyes boring holes into the girl. "Your sheets are in tip top shape..." she starts.

Why was she making a comment?! This can't be good... I bit my lip, studying her expression but finding nothing

The woman leans closer, riding whip at the ready. "Whoever," she murmurs, "The cook mentioned that she saw /someone/ sneaking a sandwhich during yesterday's lunch. But it couldn't have been you, of course. Especially when I told you that you weren't to be fed for the rest of the evening."

"Ma'am, I was in bed at the time" I said, biting my lip

She raises an eyebrow. "Are you calling me a liar then?"

"No, not at all. You yourself said it couldn't have been me" I pointed out

"And yet the cook mentioned seeing pink eyes and black hair. Do you know anyone else who looks like that?"

I gulp "No ma'am...maybe the cook was mistaken?"
