"You still haven't answered my question, Dylan. What's this Star Trek thing you're talking about?"

((Sorry, it's gone midnight here in England, continue without me, I'll jump in again later.))
Feyla: "I think I hear something outside. I'll be back later."

((G'night, Regret ^_^))

Dylan: "Star Trek is some kind of alien movie thing. I don't watch it."

"That's all?" I ask with a slight frown. Not even worth my curiosity. "Huh. Now that you mention it, though, I think Izzy was talking about that. I wonder if this is her Plane of Origin..." I'm more thinking out loud at this point.

(Wait, is your character a male or female?)
Dylan: I laughed at Nike as she rambled. "What, are you not from this planet?" I asked.

((Female ))

"Well, yes and no," I reply. "I'm from Earth, but it's not this Earth. It's in a different universe. Different plane of existence."

Dylan: "Well...umm....wait, what!?"

"That's right, kid," I say with a wolfish grin. "I'm from outside your universe. That makes me an alien."

Dylan: At first I felt like screaming, but then I realized that would be ridiculous. Instood I stood and walked over to the couch the alien, I mean, Nike, was sitting on. I sat beside her and almost reached out to touch her, but then realized that, also, would be a bad idea. So, just to be sure, I said, "Can you prove it?"

"I could take you to a different universe right now, but that'd just drain me. I can do this, though." I pull a rock out of my pocket (and yes, I always have at least one or two of those on hand) and hold it out on my palm. Applying very little energy, I cause the rock to levitate. I use a bit more energy and turn it into various shapes before settling it back on my hand. "And I assure you," I add as I put it back in my pocket, "I'm just as human as you are."

Dylan: "That's impressive." I wasn't really that scared either, which surprised me, I was more exhilerated. "How did you get here?"

"I shifted. I focused my energy into a big burst and forced my way through the fabric of the reality I left and the reality I entered. Oh, and don't worry, both fabrics are fine."

Dylan: "What do you mean 'both fabrics are fine'?"

"Well, I made holes in them to get here. The holes closed up instantaneously, though. The universes can deal with that tiny damage."

Feyla: "What's this about damaging the universe?" I blow the water off the end of my nose and sneeze twice. "It's still quite wet out there." I gesture to the door I just entered by.

"Oh, I had to make small holes in a couple of universes to get here. The holes closed up again right away, though. Actually, the Sybek use this same principle to destroy universes."

Feyla: Holes in universes? I've heard stranger things. I don't reckon this girl is crazy, she seems to sensible to be delusional. After all, I'm not even sure that this is my universe.
"Ah. I just got dragged here by my author."

((I think the Fourth Wall might be getting a hole in it, too xD! ))

"Author?" I tip my head to the side. It's not like I'm not familiar with the word, of course, but I've never heard it used like that. "What do you mean by that? Is that what you call your director, or something?"

Dylan: I sat in silence while the, well, I supposed they were both aliens, ranted on about their galaxies.

((Her world exists partly as a world and partly /in potentia/, so her world still has to have a direct link to its author to exist. Also, they have almost no recognisable means of moving from world to world.))
Feyla: "No, my 'director', as you say, would be the cardinal. Cardinal Van Goyer, to be exact, although the different chapels are reves are controlled by different cardinals."

((Wait, do people in your book create worlds?))

"Huh. That makes sense. Then who's your author?"

Dylan: "I don't have an author," I mumbled. "But I do have a reality I'd like to get back to."

I turn to Dylan with another wolfish grin.
"This is reality, kid, whether you like it or not."

Dylan: "I guess that's somewhat true...For you. But for me I used to not know anything about aliens. So this is crazy." I pointed out the window and the rain that was washing down the sidewalks. "That is reality."
