C. D. - character development

Dan:
"Um... no, no I didn't, is that something I should maybe you know destroy?" I ask a little concerned.

"Hard to say, really. I mean, if some kind of massive asteroid was on a collision course with this planet the Zaxiphrasians would saw it into small chunks and you'd enjoy a spectacular but harmless meteor shower. But if you engaged in some kind of hostilities with them, well..." Skipper draws her top right hand across her throat in a cutting motion. "They'd boil all the water off of this planet. I doubt you could destroy it, anyway."

"One moon," Cassie said, leaning her head on Evan's shoulder. "I sometimes write about it."

"It's a good moon. Sometimes they're just a scuzzy rock orbiting a planet, like that red planet nearby. Those moons are frankly a bit crap. Who lives there, anyway?"

"Nobody, as far as we know," I said. "But yeah, it is a nice moon."
"Personally, I think the dragon ones are nicer," Peter mentioned.
"Oh yeah, I totally agree," I replied. "This one's still pretty good, though."

Evan looked at Cassie, who had already fallen asleep. He was starting to feel tired himself.

"Dragon moons? What're they?"

Dan:
"If it isn't hostile I won't try to destroy it and our moon is nice, but the one around Jupiter, Titan, is better it apparently should be able to sustain life. And Skip, Mars the red planet might be able to be Terraformed in a few years to be habitable again" I say.

"Do you think those lost boy things will show up again?" said Evan uncomfortably.

"Is that like a humanoid thing with a metal head and a gun? Because there's one lying in the middle of the road with a broken neck." Skipper grins and flexes her muscles. It's quite something to watch, not because she is particularly muscular, but because it's impressive how she can do it without all of the arms getting in the way of each other.

Penny: "Whoa," I said as Skipper flexed. "That's...cool!"

Dan:
I look at her and chuckle. "yeah, thats them" I say.

Penny: "Not going to lie, it's still freaky. But definitely cool!"

"Thanks! Don't worry about finding it a bit freaky, I'm still puzzled as to where you're hiding your other arms. And Dan?" I turn to him. "I don't see why you're getting upset. If little ol' me can handle them, a superhero could easily."

"I shot one," said Evan, looking out the window.

"Great! You like shooting things? I know I do." Skipper is silent for a moment. "That sounded less crazy in my head."

((Oh, come one! Anyone?))

"No. I borrowed Victor's gun. They had Cassie..." Evan said.

"Ah. I don't know what it's like to see a loved one imperilled that way, but it can't be nice, can it?" Skipper sighs. "Actually, there's this one guy..."

"Who?" Cassie asked. Apparently she wasn't asleep.
"Weren't you?! Aw..never mind."

"Actually, it's the Noronel." Skipper shifts uncomfortably. "He's not much of a looker. His skins a bit yellowy now, way more green than blue, and he's not as young as he used to be, but he's so brave and clever... But I don't think he even cares." Skipper sighs and rests her head in her lower hands, while her upper hands absentmindedly play with her head-spines.

((Little does she know that Noronel Justick actually secretly has affections for her, but she never finds out until he's about to die, and names her as his successor. His pride and duty won't let him even admit to himself that he loves her.))

"I bet he does," said Cassie, looking at Evan.

"I doubt it," says Skip, shaking her head. "He likes us well enough, but to him there's nothing more important than fulfilling the duties of a Noronel."

"Sometimes you'd be surprise what you might find underneath..." said Cassie.

"He's friendly enough to us, but he never lets us forget that we're expendable. He's the great Noronel, and I'm just a part-time smuggler." Skip shrugs. "There's no way he'll ever notice what I feel."
