Tara: "Go ask."

Jace: "Have I told you that I'm shy?"

Tara: I rolled my eyes. "You? Shy?"

Jace: I sigh. "Haven't we been through this before?"

Tara: "Maybe. But you don't seem shy around me."

Jace: "Tell me how long I've been talking to you."

Tara: "I don't understand the question...what do you want me to tell you?"

Jace: "Tell me how long I've been hanging around you."

Tara: I crossed my arms and frowned. "Probably a week, maybe a little more."

Jace: "And that's why I'm not shy around you, Tara."

Tara: "You weren't to begin with. I asked if you needed help finding your class, and you were all sarcastic with me. And you asked me out the first day you knew me. That's now what I call shy."

Jace: "Maybe your beauty won me over," I whisper, averting my eyes.

Tara: I bit my lip, feeling a blush in my cheeks. "You're just kidding, right?"

Jace: I blink. "Would I be kidding if I told you I really wanted to kiss you right now?"

Tara: "I-I don't know," My eyes fell to the ground, caught off-guard by his question. The truth was, I really wanted to kiss him, too. Right here, outside of Hollister. Why not?

Jace: My lips pull up at the corners. "I'm not lying," I whisper.

Tara: "Then kiss me," I challenged.

Jace: My lips brushed. "You can tell me to stop if you want."

Tara: "But maybe I don't want you to stop," I said, hoping that wasn't the entire kiss, just that brush of the lips.

Jace: I pull away. "Then that's when I should."

Tara: I frowned. "Why?"

Jace: My eyes start to water and I turn away. "Because...because I can't."

Tara: "Because isn't an answer. You said you wanted to kiss me, and now you don't! What the heck, Jace?!"

(gahh brb! Like, literally five minutes or so. Please dont' log off!! Pretty, pretty please? We're never on at the same time except for now! Pleeeease?)

Jace: I wince. "I'm sorry. Really." My fists tighten and I turn around to look at her.

Tara: "Why won't you kiss me, Jace?" I said sadly.
