Jude: I felt Iliana's hand fly across my face, and blink, surprised at the sting i felt on my cheek. "Did... did you just slap me? Me?"
Anger was boiling inside me, but i calmed down. I don't get angry. Plus, she said something about training. Training for what? I shake my head at her apology, and furrowed my eyebrows. I hoped i didn't look angry.
"Training...?" I asked suspiciously. My heart was still pounding over the fact that Iliana slapped me. I was angry with her. No denying it. But i didn't want to fight. Not so early

Iliana:"Jude I'm really, really sorry." I touched the place on his face that my and had slapped it and saw that it was hot. My trainer would be proud, but damn! Jude must be so pissed at me. Then I heard his question, and my hand fell to my side. "Um, nothing...don't worry about it." My gaze dropped to my shoes.

(She slapped him because he grabbed her elbow)

Jude: "Iliana you just slapped me. I think i deserve to know what made you react like that." I narrowed my eyes at her. "What? Training to be an assassin? Bounty Hunter?"

Iliana:"I can't tell you Jude, I would if I could." I looked back up and into his angry eyes, flinching a little. I had never seen him mad, and it was scary. I looked back at his red cheek, and tried to change the subject. "We should probably get you some ice for that."

Jude: I huffed angrily, not trying to hide it. "Don't change the subject. If this bruises, so be it. I told you about my sister... You can't even tell me what you're training for? COME ON iliana." I knew i was being out-of-character. Jude SIms never ever got mad. Frustrated, maybe, but never mad. I was scared of it. Why was i being like this?

Iliana: I took a step backward, afraid of what Jude would do. I deserved to be slapped back, but Jude wasn't the type to hit a girl. Was he? I mean, I had never seen him mad, either. "I know telling me about your sister was hard for you, and that you've never told anyone. But Jude, if I tell you, I put my entire family in danger. Possibly the entire country."

Jude: I stared at her disbelievingly. "What is this?" I cried out, frustrated. "This feels like a movie. This is right out of some twisted CSI episode!" I ran my hand through my hair and took three steps away from her before coming back. "Iliana... what's going on? Why can't you tell me? I'm supposed to be someone you can talk to... You always have been able to. Why not now?"

Iliana: "Jude, I want to tell you, I really do. I've wanted to since you told me your secret about your sister, because I felt like you told me something that was very important to you, and you didn't know one of the most important things about me. But Jude...I can't tell you, I just truly can't. And if you're really my best friend," I wasn't ready to use the other term to describe him "Then you won't try and pry this out of me."

Jude: She was right. I knew it. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, not wanting to keep that filthy anger in side of me. "Fine." Was all I said. Was all i wanted to say.
I turned to grab my stuff that was back in the APUSH class, but said one last thing to her:
"I'm not mad."

Iliana:"And I'm not mad either," I gulped "About the Ember thing." I wanted to tell Jude my secret so badly, but it probably hadn't been the best time to, anyway. If he was mad at me, then he might have told someone else, too. That would be every un-Jude-like, though people do crazy things when they're upset.

Jude: I got a strange vibe from her. Maybe she still thought i was mad? "Just so you know: I want you to tell me your secret. Just me and only me. My ears only. No one else's."
With that, i disappeared into the now-empty class and grabbed my stuff. I didn't go back out that door, though. I went through the other one.
Dang it. First fight? And not even a day in? And she called me her best friend... So we weren't going out? Yes, we were! I liked her, she liked me, we both admitted it, neither of us said we wanted to stay friends.
I'm... confuzzled.

Evelyn: I can't help but listen in to the nearby conversation. They will probably be noticing any minute now. Maybe I should go find Blake, I think as I mess with my skirt. I hate skirts, yet I am wearing one now.

Iliana: I closed my eyes and sighed. Why had my trainer trained me so well? Everything would have been fine if I hadn't accidentally slapped Jude. If I didn't have a secret we wouldn't be in the mess we were in now, either. But if I didn't have a secret would I be here? Would Jude be here? Thinking of all these "what ifs" was making my brain hurt.
