Tara: "Yeah. So you might as well tell me the date."

Jace: I shake my head. "I'd like to see you guess."

Tara: "The 30th?" I laughed. "I have no idea, hon."

Jace: I roll my eyes. "The point."

Tara: "What?" I asked in confusion.

Jace: "You aren't supposed to have an idea of the date."

Tara: "You WERE born on the 30th?"

Jace: I roll my eyes. "Keep guessing."

Tara: "The 31st? Halloween?"

Jace: I laugh. "I wish."

Tara: "29th?28th?27th?"

Jace: I shake my head. "I'm not going to deny or admit. You'll just have to see which day I feel the happiest."

Tara: "But it doesn't sound like you get happy on your birthdays."

Jace: I shrug. "Wait and see."

Tara: "Alright." I rolled my eyes.

Jace: "What about your birthday?"

Tara: "July 8th."

Jace: I smile. "Four days earlier and you could've been an Independence baby."

Tara: "Yeah, I don't think I'd want to have my birthday on a holiday, though."

Jace: I frown. "Why?"

Tara: "Because then it wouldn't be my birthday, it would be whatever holiday."

Jace: I lift her chin. "Not to me," I say, standing up. "Come on. We've gotta go somewhere today."

Tara: "Where?"

Jace: I shrug. "Skydiving," I say sarcastically.

Tara: I frowned. I hated sarcasm. "Fine."
