The Summer that changed my life forever...

Brok: When I came upon one of my band's CDs, I started looking through it, wondering if I should give Dakota an autograph. Maybe that would be too arrogant.

Dakota: I stacked the music onto the display. Now I got to work the register - yay?

(eventually when he decides what to do.)

Brok: I turned around to see Dakota at the register, pulled my hood over my head, and made my way to it.

Dakota: I rang up a few customers, but we were having a slow day. I sighed and leaned on the counter, coloring my fingernails with sharpie. I know, it was a weird thing to do, but I was bored! Cut me some slacK!

Brok: I saw her coloring her nails with a Sharpie and grinned, surprised but amused by her quirkiness. "Hey," I said. "Care to check this out for me?"

Dakota: I boredly didn't look up, and somehow didn't recognize his voice. I just held out my hand for whatever it was the person wanted rung up, kind of zoning.

Brok: I waited for her to look up, smirking.

Dakota: I tapped in the price of the object boredly, then finally looked up as I handed it back. "Here you -" I cut off and blinked. "Are you stalking me?"

Brok: I laughed, pleased she was surprised. "Of course not. I got bored."

Dakota: I quickly hid the hand I had been coloring on behind my back. He'd probably already seen, and probably already thought I was a weirdo. I arched an eyebrow. "Girls love hearing that a guy came to see them because he was bored." I said sarcastically and smirked.

Brok: I laughed. "Well, I really was bored. Seriously. The other guys are out doing crap too. I might as well do something instead of sitting on my butt all day."

Dakota: "Well, I guess you forgot that I'm still stuck here for another hour." I rolled my eyes. I suddenly didn't care if he thought I was a weirdo, and began coloring my fingernails again.

Brok: I shrugged. "I brought some of Shane's rough tracks with me to listen to. I'll figure out drumming patterns." I laughed when I saw her coloring her nails. "Do I need to buy you nail polish or something so you'll quit doing that?"

Dakota: "No, I'm just bored. And I can afford to buy my own nail polish, thanks." I rolled my eyes. I knew he hadn't meant it that way, but...

Brok: I laughed. "Well, it's cute. That's fine. So, would you like me to get autographs on this CD? Assuming you like my band, that is."

Dakota: I smiled. "That'd be cool." THAT WOULD BE REALLY FREAKING COOL. I kept my excitement to myself and shrugged like it wasn't /that/ big of a deal.

Brok: I grinned. "Then it's settled. I'll get them tonight," I said, slipping the CD into my shoulder bag. "Okay. I'll sit in the corner and behave."

Dakota: I rolled my eyes and laughed. "Okay, but uhm...don't let the boss see you, he'll freak out if he knows someone as famous as you is here."

Brok: I tugged on my cap. "What do you think this is for?"

Dakota: "So that I don't have to stare at your ugly mug all day, I assumed." I shrugged. Yes mug was a funny, old-fashioned word. Oh well.

Brok: I frowned. "Mug?"

Dakota: "Also known are your face?" I arched an eyebrow at him.

Brok: "Oh," I said. "Yeah, uh, I'll go work now."

Dakota: "It was a joke, you know. Your face isn't that bad took look at." I winked with a smirk before turning to grab something from the back room that a customer had just walked up for.

Brok: I laughed to myself, smirking, and yanked the cap over my head and sat in the corner to figure out a beat.
