The Summer that changed my life forever...

Brok: I laughed. "So that's good for me, then." I didn't get mad, so it didn't really matter if she was easy to forgive or not.

Dakota: "Good for you, bad for me." I nodded.

Brok: I laughed. "Exactly. Lucky me, huh?"

Dakota: "Yeah, lucky you." I really wanted to kiss him, but I didn't. I pulled away and sat back down.

Brok: I continued eating my sandwich. "This is seriously amazing."

Dakota: "uh-huh, surrrrre."

Brok: "It is!"

Dakota: "Okay. Almost done?" I was. I had been hungrier than I thought, hopefully I didn't look all piggish when I ate. Ugh.

Brok: I nodded. "Just enjoying it."

Dakota: I rolled my eyes and brought my plate to the sink. I washed it. It was weird being in Shane's girlfriend's house and using her stuff...but I guess she didn't mind, I think Brok asked permission. He better have.

Brok: I dumped my stuff in the sink too. Maybe we should wash it. "Should we clean up?"

Dakota: "I washed mine. You wash yours. I'll clean up the food stuff." I gathered up the butter, etc, and put it all back where we'd found it.

Brok: "Whoops," I said, going to wash mine. I hope she didn't think I was lazy now.

Dakota: I hummed to myself as I put away the stuff. "What should we do now?" Leave this house, please. It was still weirding me out.

Brok: I shrugged. "I don't know. I think it's your turn to pick."

Dakota: "Finnnnne." I thought for a few moments. "Uh...look at the stars?" No, that's lame, isn't it? Grr.

Brok: I shrugged. "Sure, sounds good. Let's go in the backyard."

Dakota: "Alright." I followed him out.

Brok: I held the door open for her. "After you."

Dakota: I didn't roll my eyes, though I wanted to. I walked out ahead of him like he asked.

Brok: I shut the door behind us and sat down on the grass. "It's really warm," I said. "You know what we need to do? We need to have a water balloon fight."

Dakota: I laughed. "A...water balloon fight? Dressed like this?"

Brok: "You can borrow clothes. I can run and change. And if you don't mind, could you buy the water balloons?"

Dakota: He'd have to give me money...well I mean I could find some at home maybe, but I wasn't going home. I wouldn't say that, though. I nodded. "Mmhmm."

Brok: I started rummaging in my pocket. Just enough left. "Here," I said, handing her the remainder hat money. "In case."
