What Is Left After?

Aimery: I pout. "Well then I won't do it."

Wayne: "Come on. Climb!"

Aimery: I raise an eyebrow. "Are you going to catch me?" I ask again.

"I know plen'y'a pressure points, an' some techniques for throwin' someone offa ya when ye're bein' pinned ta the ground."

I slip my arm around Jelsa again. "Now YOU can disarm me any time you like."
I regard Susan thoughtfully. "I know how to get someone off me if they're grabbing me by the shoulders, and I know a few other bits and bobs, but generally I rely on brute force and superior weight."

"That's not somethin' I can say fer myself," I said with a wry grin, motioning up and down to my fearsome five feet and three inches. "That's why I learned about pressure points 'n' defense techniques. I don't look like much, but looks can be decieving."

"I imagine that would be a problem," I remark. "After all, muscle mass is not only useful in terms of strength, but also in protecting yourself. For instance, it's quite difficult to use the brakeheel nerve cluster to stun me compared to how easy it is on other people."
I place the edge of my hand against the side of my neck and push by way of a demonstration.
"Strong neck, see? The muscles protect the nerves."

(Hm...I'm slightly disappointed in myself for pretty much letting Roxanne and Joseph disappear...anywhere I can join back in?)

"Heh," I said. "Me, I just strike where it hurts most. My sparrin' partner in jujitsu was like, at least six feet tall er somethin'...kinda like you...but I could still throw 'im off anyway."

"That doesn't surprise me. I expect you could easily throw more than twice your weight. In fact, my old man has... had... a funny story about how he once judo-threw two people at once by accident."

Wayne: "Yes, I will!"

Jelsa: I giggled. "Oh, I know I can."

Aimery: I look at him doubtfully, then pull on the gloves. "If I get hurt, you'll be suffering from more than just guilt," I mutter.

I gape at Jelsa. "Remind me not to upset you. I admit that I'm not the most effective fighter here, and most of you would hand me my arse in a straight fight. I only have one ace, and that is my far superior strength and weight. I reckon I wouldn't need a fancy grip to break some bones."

Jelsa: I laughed. "You haven't upset me yet. I bet it'd be hard to do that." I smiled at him.

Susan
"Like I said, Peter," I started with a laugh, "I could teach ya stuff if ya wanted."

"that would be highly appreciated. I don't expect you to teach me for free," I say, reaching into my backpack. I remove several KFC wetwipes, still sealed, and offer them to her. "Book of Eli again."

Jelsa: I frowned. "Book of Eli?"

"Ah, you missed a treat," I say. "It was a film about a guy carrying a Bible across America after a nuclear war... or something. It's never clearly explained."

Jelsa: I frowned. "I think I saw a preview of it...but it was a really long time ago." I tried to remember but couldn't really. Hm.

"Ah, it was so good. If we had electricity I'd find a copy and show it to you."

(We haven't been on at the same time in a while!)

Jelsa: I sighed. "I have no idea how to fix it. My physics teacher kind of showed me, but I forgot everything."

"I might be able to. I loved physics. I reckon, if we can get a magnet, i can rig up a working dynamo. The only problem is getting the magnet."
I frown and tap my chin. "Has anyone got a magnet?"

Jelsa: I frowned. "I bet we can look around and find one, especially if you see a fridge anywhere."

Susan
"Yeah, we should be able ta find one around somewhere. An' ya don't need ta pay me," I said to Peter. "I'd be happy ta teach ya for free."

Jelsa: I frowned. "What are you teaching him?" I was starting to warm up to her a little bit now.
