what happens in college

Adam: "I've known you more than one day, Brea. Maybe we only dated for one day, but we knew each other way longer than that." She was also the first girl who didn't completely ignore her own desires when it came to me. That was why I liked her, right? Did she know that?

(melodramatic adam.)

Brea: My laughter vanished. "Yeah, that's true."

(not really, Brea is just not good with drama)

(haha. we love her anyway. Don't we, Brea Anne Wilkes? (that's a great name xD)

Adam: "Anything else to say?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.

(Ahaha, sure it's...great? xD Good enough, anyways)

Brea: "Is there something you want me to say?" I raised an eyebrow back at him.
"Oh, you want me to say I missed you, too, that's it, isn't it?"

(haha. Adam's middle name is Elijah because I couldn't think of anything else.)

Adam: I shrugged. "I want you to say how you really feel."

Brea: I rolled my eyes, but then grew serious. "I guess I feel like...I really like you, but I'm kind of hesitant to date lately. So I'm not sure I went ahead and dated you, even for a day, it just felt ... right."

Adam: I nodded. "Mmhm. I see. Maybe...after a little more time, we can try it again?"

(It is )

Brea: I sighed. "I don't know."

Adam: "You don't have to answer now," I said. "Just something to think about." At least she was thinking about it. Most of the other girls hadn't.

Brea: "It's more like...how much time do you want to give it?"

Adam: "Let's not put a deadline. Let's just...see," I said lamely.

Brea: I frowned. I didn't like that idea, but whatever.

Adam: I sighed and continued drinking. And now...silence.

Brea: "But if we set a time limit, then we would know when to give up," I pointed out.

Adam: I shook my head. "Are you really sure you want to do that?"

Brea: "I don't know...I've never done this before, remember?"

Adam: "Well..." I sighed. "Yeah, okay. Well, let's just see what happens, alright?"

Brea: But what if nothing happened? I wasn't really sure what to say so I just nodded once, slowly.

Adam: I finished my coffee. "Are you done?"

Brea: I nodded again.

Adam: "Well...uh...guess we can go back to our houses now..."

Brea: I sighed. "Yeah...bye."

Adam: "Bye."

Brea: I left, thinking how stupid I was. I just always had to screw things up.
