"I don't think I want to ask," Karina muttered with a slight laugh.

Zerrick laughed and pulled onto the highway, grateful things were mostly back to normal.

"So are we off to another hotel?" Karina asked.

I guess. I'm heading to Denver..." Zerrick still wasn't sure what to do when they got there. In reality, they could only last so long before they needed a permanent place to lives, and jobs to provide them money.

Karina nodded. "Okay..." She didn't have much more to say about it.

Zerrick kept driving but pulled over for gas. He got out and took out his wallet. All of a sudden, and from out of nowhere, someone hit him on the head. he immediately blacked out, and fell onto the concrete.

Karina was next, and when she woke up:

All their money was gone.
But she was much more worried about Zerrick.
She shook his shoulder to try and wake him up.
"Zerrick?" She whispered, rubbing his cheek with her thumb. "Wake up, please..."

Zerrick started waking up. Everything was fuzzy and Karina sounded very worried. "I'm...okay." he sat up and leaned against his car. "Babe, are you ok?" he reached up and touched her bleeding forehead.

How should I bring Dylan in? And what has happened so far from when Jace found Elaina and they went to that abandoned house--thats where I stopped reading?

Karina shivered slightly at his touch, the wound was still open. "I'm ... fine. But they took all our money."

Zerrick pulled her into a hug, just holding her for a while. "I don't care. I'm just glad that you are okay."

Karina smiled slightly, and pulled back so she could look him in the eyes. "I'm glad that you're okay, too," She said, and kissed him gently. Too bad if he only wanted something in the middle. She was kissing him again and he'd have to deal.

Zerrick smiled aginst her lips and deepened this kiss, pulling back after a few minutes. "I really like you, babe."

Karina smiled. "And you already know that I really like you...babe," She added the name on the end as a joke, her smile teasing.

Zerrick stood up and pulled her to her feet and into his arms for another kiss. Then he pulled away. "We should put a little gas in the car. I have cash in the car." he opened his secret compartment and found about a thousand in cash. All the money they had left in the world.

Karina ran a hand through her hair and took a deep breath. "I guess we'll have to get jobs now, huh?"

"Yeah, guess so." Zerrick finished up and got in the car. Soon they were at a hotel and he had some med supplies sent to the room. "Come here, let me look at your head," He said, motioning Karina over to the bed.

Karina went and sat down next to him so he could look at it. She frowned. "Is it really bad?"

"No, not really." Zerrick irrigated the wound and then bandaged it. "There." He kissed her forehead. "Doctor Zerrick thinks you are just fine," he said, meaning it in more ways than one.

"Well, thank you for fixing me up, Doctor Zerrick," Karina said with a laugh, lying down on the bed. She was so drained of energy.

He fixed his own wound and lay beside her, holding her hand.

(I got out, just checking xD haha)

Karina smiled at him, then turned over so his arm was wrapped around her, spooning her. She purred and snuggled into him. "This is better."

He grinned. "Hmm, more then friends, I take it?" Zerrick smiled as she cuddled against him. He could get used to this.
