Ashley: "Right...they're totally ugly," I mumbled, even though it was a lie for me.

Emery: I was secretly jealous though, the girl was gorgeous!

Alex: "We should ask her to sit with us - you know, welcome a new student!" I smiled warmly over at the girl "You can sit here, there's an extra spit," I called.

The student's reactions to the new girl were much better than the teacher's.

"Class, quiet. Aimee, I'd like to see your after class. Have a seat." Carrot hair sneered.

I give a little cute eye roll to show that I'm kewl with it, then start walking forward slightly. A girl with a nice smile waves at me, I return it and sit beside me, ignoring hostile glares from two other pretty girls. What their problem was escaped me.

The rest of class was a total bore. I mostly tried to fix what I had tried doing with my hair this morning; a messy bun wrap with some curly wisps hanging loose. Most of it had come undone, and didn't want to fix, so I just pulled the whole thing out and left it.

Co-ed school, btw

Derek: "Looks like some fresh new territory, guys," I smirked and nodded at the new girl, nudging my friends.

Blake: I glanced over half-heartedly. Tara was much prettier. "Yeah..."

Clayton: "Pretty hair," I shrugged. Kayla's blue hair was cooler, though.

Josh: "Ashley doesn't like her, so I probably shouldn't either."

Bio: A year younger than his sister, Aimee, new in town, mysterious, poetic, smells like strong cologne, boys usually hate him b/c he's not a jock and b/c girls like how dark and aloof he is

Aimee: Class is over, and I see a group of tough, muscular guys looking at me. Not flirty, just curious. I give them a small wave, how unattractive, I look like the queen of England, and scurry away. The kind of boys Miles would hate aren't ones I'd like to get to know. I walk into the cafeteria and am faced with another problem. Where to sit?
Not with Miles. Lame to sit with your brother. Even I know that.
Maybe the girl who liked me in class. I decide to go into the girls bathroom first, though, and meet up with a group I nickname the Populars.

Miles: Who cares if I miss the first half of school?
No one there. I'm just the new kid. The new boy to pick a fight with. I rub the bruises along my arm and remember why we moved, why I got a therapist, and why Mom and Dad are forcing me to be happy.
I stroll into the lunchroom. Instantly one girl catches my eye. Her blue hair stands out among the blonde and brown. I stare over at her, and look away as she catches my eye. I probably creeped her out. I grumbled and walked slowly away.

Yes, I know that, but to Aimee the 'Populars' are the stuck up ones. She doesn't know it's really a clique; it's just something she thinks as the mean girls.

Mandy: "Ooh, Kayla the new guy was looking over at you," I said in a singsong voice as I munched on my vegetarian packed lunch.

Tara: I glanced up to see the guy she was talking about, even though she had been talking to Kayla. He was cute, but I was set on going out with Blake someday. Not that this new guy would look my way, anyway. I sighed and turned back to our lunch table.

Aimee: The door swings open and I walk in, desperate for a tampon. My eyes lock with one, but it costs money, and I never bring my wallet around unless I'm going to the mall b/c I always loose it. Two girls are fixing their make-up. They fix their heavily shadowed eyes on me.
"Hello, girl."
I decide this is a conversation I'd rather skip, but I'll ruin my jeans. And I don't want to use toilet paper.
I clear my throat.
"Can I borrow some, um, change?" I say, aware of how cheap I sound. I hope they'll recognize my $50 silky black tank top with layers of lace and ruffles down the left side.

Miles: I hurry along and get my lunch, only to see blue haired girl looking at me. I really want to come over to talk to her, that's what my therapist would want as well, but I sit in the corner at a table with no one at it and pick at the lunch I dumped on my tray.

Um, they probably wouldn't say hello girl...but okay?

Emery: "Change, for what?" I arched a carefully plucked eyebrow at her, and leaned against the counter.


Tara: I saw that the new guy was sitting alone, and felt bad. "I'm going to go sit with the new kid."

Mandy: "What? That's, like, social suicide!" I cried out

Tara: "We're in the Eccentrics, Mandy. We can't get much lower than that," I pointed out.

Mandy: "What-ever, not my rep," I shrugged and chewed a carrot stick.

Tara: I grabbed my lunch box, yes, I still carried one of those, and walked over to the guy. I pasted on a smile. "Hi, I'm Tara. What's your name?"

Haha yeah probs not. I was just trying to think of something for them to say. I guess I imagined it being more snobby.

Miles: I looked at her, the girl who approached me. She gave me a smile.

I looked around the room and saw no teachers looking, so I flipped up my black hoodie hood, sunk down in my seat, and pretended to focus on my iPod. The girl looked hurt and walked away

Tara: Not the friendly type? I still wanted to make him feel welcome in the new school, so I sat across from him even though he obviously didn't want me to. "What song are you listening to?"

I shook my head, cleared my throat, and whispered, "Taylor Swift."
Then I got up and dumped my lunch before I did anything else stupid.

Aimee: It was obvious the girls would not help. So, toilet paper it was. I walked into the bathroom, trying to look level headed, and closed the stall. After stuffing some toilet paper in my underwear, I scurried to the sink, slid on some lip balm, looked at my messy hair and decided just to leave it, and walked out.

Tara: I burst out laughing, and probably looked like an idiot, since the guy had walked away. Yeah, right, Taylor Swift? Psh, I went back to my lunch table.

Mandy: "How'd it go?"

Tara: "New kids can be so unfriendly."

Mandy: "I was the new kid in sixth grade."

Tara: "Yeah...you're the exception." Mandy had taken to us right away, in fact she felt comfortable enough to boss us around within the first week of school.


Emery: I just rolled my eyes when the girl came out, with an obvious lump from toilet paper.

Ashley: I snickered, noticing.

Stefani: I roll my eyes. Of course. No doubt the Populars would get her.

Where is Stefani?

She heard the noise when she was walking down the hall (gah, should've mentioned that) then she saw the new girl through the window-thingy.

He was just walking out the door as I entered. Darn, was I about to be late again?
I resisted the urge to pat down the lump on my pants. Did I have to wear skinny jeans during my time of the month? I really should 1) take tampons with me all the time and 2) start keeping a calendar.
Well, enough puberty talk. I needed to get a spot for lunch.
The lunchroom was like a round dome. All tables were scattered, maybe even at one time but messed around with by kids. No one looked my way.
Just then, the bell rang. Great. No lunch for me. How short was that?
I hurried along to the next class, thinking of how I hoped I would not be this un-popular tomorrow.

Don't they have, like, a window almost in the door? Hold on...
