As Darkness Falls

Hugo nodded, happy that she was okay. He couldn't stand to hear it when people said they were bad. It usually led to him asking questions, attempting to cheer the person up and the person sometimes getting pissed off at him. "That's good, better than being bad. I can just imagine it being boring just sitting here and not really having anything to do," he told her. "I'm great."

Ryder nodded, "Yeah it does but hey thats my job." She knew what she was doing when she signed up for this job. At least it was better than sitting around waiting. At least if something happened she could defend the place and know what is happening. "Thats good. What were you doing walking in the tunnels?"

LAurel; I almost cried. A smirling face. I REAL smiling face. Not sick twisted amusement at pain, but HAPPINESS. A happy CHILD. I wiped my eyes quickly and held out my hand, smiling shakily "I-I'm Laurel sweetheart" I said thickly, swallowing

Alec smiled, he was glad to see them both happy. He handed the girl a hankerchief when he saw she was getting watery eyed. The little girl gave her a bright smile shaking her hand, "I'm Sydney." She tugged on the girls arm. "Come look at my dolls." The little girl was vibrant with excitement.

I hate children


Laurel: I gave the guy a grateful smile and wiped my eyes, following Sydney "They're very pretty dolls Sydney"

Alec nodded, he realized that his blank mask was off ans decided to put it back up. Sydney sat next to her dolls playing with them. She pointed to the other side of tent. You can have that side. Alec saw the girl continue to play with her dolls. "I think she will be doing that for hours."

*shudders* You dun wanna know


Laurel: I smiled and sat next to Sydney, picking up one of the dalls "May I?"

(*nods* Alright.)

Sydney nodded giving her a blonde doll with a blue dress. Alec sat down watching them play. He smiled a little he was glad to see them getting along. Sydney needed a older figure of a girl. She was always clinging to Alec since she was afraid of the others. He was surprised to her with the girl talking.

Laurel: I smiled, swallowing softly and playing with her. I smiled and brushed my hair out of my face, the scars on my back twinging slightly as I bent over

Alec sat back still watching them. Sydney yawned and rubbed her eyes. "Time for you to go to sleep." Getting up he tucks her into her bed on the floor. Sydney nods, "goodnight." He gives her a kiss on the forhead before getting up to leave. He turns to the girl, "come one you must be hungry."

Laurel: I shrugged, standing up and rubbing my back

Alec raised an eyebrow, "you okay." they exited the tent and he stopped her. She seemed like she was in pain.

Laurel: "My scars....they still hurt sometimes" I said quietly. I could sense that he was a fallen angel as well so It dodn't worry me to talk about them.

Alec nodded he understood, he couldn't even feel his anymore. It had been to long ago since he fell. He tried not think that far back anymore. "Alright lets go get something to eat." He lead her to the table where they set up food for people to get.

Laurel: I followed, shifting nervously as dozens of pairs of eyes stared at me curiously. Could they tell what I was? Who I had been with....

Alec waved at people he knew. He saw that she was nervous. "Don't worry they all understand we have one time or the other been in your same position." He grabbed a sandwhich and chips. He sat down at a table with Michael.

Laurel: I glanced at Michael hesitantly and then sat next to Alec, hiding against his side.

Alec noded at Michael, "Be nice." He grumbled. Michael nodded and gave the girl a smile. "Sorry about earlier. I am know to be overly opinioned." Alec rolled his eyes, "thats one way to put it." Michael threw his chip at him.

Laurel: I jumped slightly at the chip and then blushed slightly in embarrassment "Hello Michael..."

Alec laughed dodging the chip. "Oh it like that huh." Michael smiled at him and turned to the girl, "I think you better duck." At that instant Alec and Michael started a chip war. When everyone saw what they were doing they decided to join in the fight.

Laurel: My eyes widened and I covered my head with a yelp, half afraid and half exited

Alec laughed, he kept throwing chips. They starting throwing differnt types of food. A burger flew threw the air. Alec dodged and threw his bread at micheal nailing him the face.

Laurel: I duked under the table, closing my eyes. It was violence.....but....not violence...

Alec saw michael's shocked face he retaliated by throwing his lettuce at him. He ducked down crouching besides the girl. He nudged her, "you okay?" She seemed kinda pale to him.

Laurel: I nodde, giving a weak smile "It's...astrange game..."
