Quinn: "I'm just saying. I don't really want to be back with her but we have to for the baby."

Skylar: "Yeah," I say, not really wanting to be on the subject of Quinn. "So... you and Jude?"I knew Jude pretty well, and it surprised me he actually had a girlfriend. Not that he couldn't get one. It's just that... he never did.

Iliana: "Yeah...what about it?" I asked slowly.

Lena:"No you don't. You could just stay single. I mean, it's not, like, you're gonna live together forever."

Quinn: I purse my lips, wondering how she'll take it. "I think we will, though. Lena, I don't want us to be that teen couple that... switch the baby off every week. I might not want to be with Skylar but I don't want to make our kid suffer because of it," I explain rushed.

Skylar: I shrugged. "You guys got together, yet?"

Lena: "Tara's parents were divorced, and she did that. And she turned out alright...for the most part. But whatever, if you want that s- girl for a girlfriend, then it's your decision," I snapped.

Iliana: "Yes..." I said, wary of where this conversation was going.

Skylar: "Can I ask you something?" I say, deciding to ask her why I felt such tension between them. It wasn't huge, but something had definitely gone on.

Quinn: I grit my teeeth. I hated it when people called Skylar a slut. Sluts did it like, fifty times a week. She and I did it once, for both of us.

Iliana:"Sure?" I said, my brow furrowing.

Lena: "I didn't mean that - you know what? Maybe I did mean it. Maybe I'm done with always being the one to apologize (she doesn't mean apologize to Quinn, just apologize to everyone in general)! Maybe I don't want to be the one that always has to pick up the pieces of other peoples' problems, and stitch their pathetic lives together!" That all came out in a rush, and then I ran out of the room, so that I wouldn't say anything to make things even WORSE.

Quinn: I arch an eyebrow in shock. What the hell just happened?

Skylar: "I was just wondering- not to meddle, obviously- but... did something happen? You two seemed a bit... on edge, like you were trying to keep something up."

Iliana: "We had a fight a couple days ago...but I thought that had blown over..."

Lena: I sat against my locker, my eyes squeezed shut as I calmed down. How was I supposed to fix that?!

Skylar: "What about?" I ask in surprise. Jude didn't seem like one to fight.

Iliana: "Er, long story," I said quickly, since I didn't want to talk about my secret or Jude's.

Skylar: I snorted. "You think your little fight's worse than what I'm going through? C'mon, maybe I can help a bit."

Iliana: "It actually wasn't little," Iliana said stiffly. Did Skylar think pregnancy was the worst problem a person could have?

Skylar: "Then what happened?" I ask, genuinely wanting to know. I love helping people, especially now, when helping others could help myself.

Iliana: "Trust issues," I said evasively. Why did she think I'd tell her?

Skylar: "Trust issues," I repeat, nodding. "I know those suck." I've had my share of experiences with that.

Iliana: "Yup, but we fixed them."

Skylar: I bite the inside of my cheek. "So it won't matter whether or not I know?" I didn't want to push but what can I say? I was one for gossip. It was what cheerleading did to you.

"Well, I can't tell you anymore than I've said without Jude's permission," I said. I wondered what this sounded like to Skylar, a gossip queen? Probably much more scandalous than it was. I had given her few details, so her imagination was probably filling out the rest.

Skylar: I nod slightly and give up. Anyway, I wanted to know just to know and help. All my 'friends' ditched me when I left the school, so who would I tell?

Iliana: "Actually, maybe I can tell you a little," I said, suddenly wanting to get this off my chest. "I told Jude a really important secret and he laughed at it because he didn't believe me. So then I made fun of him for this weirdish habit he has, and he got all mad."

Skylar: I arch an eyebrow. "He laughed at you? And then got mad at you for getting back at him?" I tsked. "That's not fair at all."

Iliana: "That's what I said," I sighed in relief, glad that at least one other person agreed with me.

Skylar: "Did he apologize at all?" I ask, glad she was opening up

Iliana: "Yeah, we both did," I said. They hadn't been very meaningful apologies, though. And if we both apologized, then did the apologies cancel out? Maybe I was over thinking this.

Skylar: "Did he sound like he meant it? Or was he laughing, or smiling in an amused way, or something?"
