Glancing at Carter, I mutter and close my eyes "Alright then"

Jane: I walk over to Orion for a moment. "Listen," I murmur. "I know what you're thinking. But the fact that Cassandra is back doesn't mean that you're free to be human again."

"I know" I mutter "Even if I could go back, why would I?"

Jane: I can think of a few reasons, but keep my mouth shut on that. "Raziel has been talking with Kore. For that reason, we don't think you should visit either. It was fine while we could pass you off to Ambrosia as some random prince when the twins weren't around. But do you really want her to see you..." I didn't finish my sentence.

Jane: I take the children's hands and bring them back to the human world, the boy clutching onto his toy.

Carter was his usual self, but he was clutching a black box. Pain hit my body, the lashes on my back still protesting, but I glanced at him with confusion "What's that?"

Carter: I'm absentmindedly clutching my chest when her words hit me. Why do I feel so...sad? "Oh, this?" I ask as I look at the box. "It was a present from Elli and Eliza."

Then the depression hits me again, and all I wanted to do was sleep...well, not sleep, going to the Outside didn't cure my insomnia "Hm"

Cassandra: "That's what you two get!" U say as I come back into the room with more food. "Yo missed dinner too- I swear, if you two ever go there without my permission again...I was worried sick!"

"It wasn't exacly a premeditated thing" I sigh with a slight smile, laying on my bed, eyes closed. I wasn't even hungry

Cassandra: I sigh as I sit on the bed and run my fingers through my hair. "You guys are gonna make me go grey one day..."

I mutter something and bury my head in a pillow

Carter: "Yea, Cass. We're got all our limbs still. We're fine." I start nodding off as I'm talking and she gently takes my hand. "Come on Carter," she says. "Let's get you back to the boy's dorm before the others come back."

"Bye Carter" I murmured, watching him go. My back still felt painful and raw, and I winced as the slightest movement hurt

Carter: "Later, PEM," I say with a grin before disappearing through the door.

I woke up with a yawn, sliding out from under my bed. My dreams, still fresh in my mind, both entertained and scared me

Carter: Whoa, I don't know if that's going away anytime soon. I push the skin back as best as I can around my eyes to get a better look. I don't even remember how this happened, although the girls mentioned something about a dog. Either way, I look pretty dang cool. "And so the valiant knight receives the first of many battle scars," I say as I stand back up, grinning into the mirror. "Awesome."
