"Kinda shocking, isn't it?" Izzy asked, sitting down as well. "Finding out how different everything is from what you know, I mean. It's a real eye-opener. People in other universes can do things a lot differently than from what you're used to. Heck, lots of people in other universes aren't even human! It can get kinda crazy..."

Riddle laughed hollowly. "Shocking? Shocking is putting it mildly. If this...If that little screen is the internet...and all the things come from people...HOW DOES OUR ECONOMY WORK? I mean...Where do we even fit into that whole...thing?" Riddle looked at the phone again in irritation. "I mean...IF THAT'S THE INTERNET- THEN WHERE DID I COME FROM?" She asked the room.

((*makes sad noise that's partway between a sharp intake of breath, an "Oh!" and an "Aww" that can't exactly be translated to text*))

"You came from the internet of your world," Izzy told her softly. "Your economy works because of the internet of your world. In this world, things are different... In this world, the internet was created by ordinary computer programmers as a tool to make communication easier. But that's not so for the internet of your world. I just...I don't know what to tell you." For once in her life, Izzy was at a loss for words.

"Riddle...We used to just call it internet+ applied phlebotnium. That was how you got here. I mean...I realise that doesn't really help...but...god. I don't know how to even give you an answer..." T.Mor patted her shoulder. She deftly smacked the hand, causing T.Mor to recoil. Riddle wasn't a very touchy-feely sort of person.
"Well...At least now I know that my dad didn't always lie about me to my face." Riddle said flatly.

"What do you mean?" Izzy asked. "Or is it something you don't want to talk about?"

"Let's see... 'Riddle if I could I would simply re-sacrifice you for what I actually asked for' 'Riddle, you do realise you are the result of badly set search parameters and have no justifiable reason to exist?' 'Next time remind me to set limitations on the eternal youth protocol.' 'you aren't special...you're just a technical glitch. If I could I would send you back.' " Riddle spat out the quotes verbatim, with a reasonably good Mr.Face accent as well. Clearly they had been cemented in her memory somehow, a remarkable feat, by any stretch of the word. "How do you think he managed to keep me from being revolting?" Riddle asked.
"The term is just 'from revolting'..."T.Mor corrected.

"That's horrible!" Izzy said, eyes wide. "No parent should say that to their child! Aw, Riddle, I'm sorry..."

"PARENT!?! AHAHAHAHAH!!!!" Riddle laughed coldly. "He was never a parent. I have a quote for that. 'Dad? What is that word? That's insulting. Don't call me that. The connotation is offensive. It would be indicative that I actually care of what happens to you, and for your well being. You're immortal, which makes these concerns petty, and simply an emotional triviality at best. Go away. I'm doing something.' I never had a parent. I had an apathetic prison guard." She said.
"You forgot the word sadistic in your description..."T.Mor added.
"Yeah. Who do you think pulled my spine out through my mouth that one time?" Riddle agreed absentmindedly.

"My dad wasn't the best dad either," said Ezra.

"What?" Riddle asked, in a voice that just oozed trouble. The cracked grin had returned, and she was suddenly standing. "Was he mean? Did he yell? Did he hit you? Hmmm? Oh, How Sad."The condescension in her vioce could have shattered a mirror."ABSOLUTELY BLOODY HEARTWRENCHING. Did he nail you to a wall, and rip out your intestines with a rusty exacto knife, AND THEN LEAVE HALFWAY THROUGH BECAUSE HE HAD A MEETING AND NEEDED TO GO GET CLEANED UP? Did you die of a gunshot to the head the first year you were four because you didn't know how to hold your own SILVERWARE at DINNER? WAS THAT EVEN THE FIRST TIME YOU DIED THEN? NO. No. Of course it wasn't. CLEARLY. Because your father...Your FATHER...Hated you, and everything you were, so much by the time you were old enough to be two, to try and THROW YOU IN A RIVER. TAKE YOUR BLOODY PICK- He tried to kill you off every three months! Even for YEARS after he knew it wouldn't WORK. HOW DO YOU THINK IT FEELS BEING 3 AND DISMEMBERED FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME EVER? HMMM? CLEARLY YOU ALREADY KNOW, SINCE YOUR FATHER WASN'T THE BEST EITHER. OVBIOUSLY, I JUST WALKED YOU THROUGH A REASONABLE FASCIMILIE OF YOUR LIFE TO THIS POINT. Am I RIGHT?" Throughout her empassioned rant, she had been getting progressively closer to Ezra, and was now mere centimetres from his face, remembering that most people breathe. Somehow, she'd gotten the knives out of her boots again, and was holding them down at her sides, looking lethal.

"Jeez, Ezra!" Izzy accused. "Can you possibly be more tactless?!" Then, in a low, dumb-sounding mockery of his voice, "'My dad wasn't the best dad either,' la-dee-da! You know, not everything has to come back to you. You're not the focal point of all existence, and we don't need you putting a word in just to get the Woobie shift onto someone less deserving!"

"My dad wants me dead. He says I deserted my family because I won't kill Liz. Unlike Riddle I can't come back to life...I was trained as an assasin. At the age of four I knew enough spells to make someone go insane. My dad wants to imprison and torture people like andrew and use them to their will." glared Ezra.

"HAS IT EVER OCCURED TO YOU-" Riddle dispatched a knife into a wall behind her,without even looking where it went, narrowly missing August's head. "THAT IMMORTALITY ISN'T ALL IT'S--" another knife... "CRACKED UP TO BE?!" T.Mor tore Riddle away from Ezra. She hit him with the butt of another blade, getting him to let go of her quite effectively.

((Oh...Sorry. Goes back in time and re directs Riddle's rage to a nearby wall.))

"Yes, yes it has. And I'm sorry your childhood sucked but now you're acting like Andrew."
