Vampire Academy

Jace pushed open the door before I could reach it. "Wow. We were gone for how long?"
"Newbies come quickly. I wonder which ones are the seniors."
"The vampires, genius. The school only lets in freshman humans."
"Fine." Dante goes to sit at a table. "There aren't as many humans as before."

Rosalie: I sensed two vampires entering the cafeteria, and I thought nothing of them. Two guys, trying to figure out which girl to hit on next. Typical ego problem.

Jace shrugged. "Maybe they're finally getting the feeling it's dangerous here."
Dante rolled his eyes. "Oh, like the idea of a school in the middle of the woods wasn't a huge clue."
"Some humans like isolation."
"And then some of them are crazy," he said, taking an apple from a passing tray.

Natalie pulled her hand out of Nicole's grasp and rolled her eyes. "Exactly. We just got here. I want to mingle."
Raising her eyebrows, Nicole studied her. "Since when so you want to mingle?"
"Since we were forced to go to this school?"
Nicole sighed. "Fine," she said, exasperated.
They finally found their way to the cafeteria, eyes widening at all the people. "Whoa."
A smile crept over Natalie's face. "See?" she said, pointing to the two boys from eariler. "Pretty vamps."

Dante bit into his apple, ignoring the glare of his stolen apple's host. "Why do you think they're scared?"
"You mean other than the obvious?"
"Yeah. I mean, we don't hunt in groups, do we?"
"I wouldn't know. Most of the covens are up north, where there are fewer people."

Rosalie: I plucked a red apple off a poor kid's tray and bit into it. He glared at me, and left.

Natalie smiled and walked over to the guys from earlier. "Sorry about before," she said. "My sister tends to have trouble with others. Especially those with the opposite sex."
Nicole narrowed her eyes at Nat. What was up with her? Why was she so...friendly all of a sudden?

Jace looked up, surprised. "Um, no problem." He held out a hand. "I'm Jace."
Dante knew what he was doing and stood up. "Well, I think I'm hungry." He jerked a thumb over his shoulder. "Jace?"
Jace raised an eyebrow. "Excuse me moment."
When they were out of sight, Dante said, "Really?"
"Well, I don't see any harm."
"But you have a girlfriend."
"I never said I was going to date them. Are you jealous?"
If it was possible, Dante's face grew whiter. "You know how long we've been careful. Don't blow it."
Jace waved him off and walked back to the girls, Dante in tow.

Natalie raised her eyebrows. "Everything all right there?"

nah nevermind, I already have a bunch of chats.

Jace smirked. "Sorta."

Natalie studied him for a moment. "My name's Natalie by the way. And that's my sister, Nicole." She jerked her thumb in Nicole's general direction.
"Well, we didn't mean to bother you or anything," Nicole said, starting to feel uncomforable. She glanced down at Natalie. "We should probably go find our dorm, right Nat?"

Jace smiled wider. "Well, I don't see the harm in escorting you to your dorms, do you, Dante?"
I raised an eyebrow. He'd gotten good at shielding himself from me. "Sure."

Natalie smiled. "Sounds good to me. We don't really want to get lost. Again." She stared pointedly at Nicole.
Rolling her eyes Nicole started ahead. "I knew exactly where to go. You're the one who didn't want to turn," she called over her shoulder.

Jace smirked and Dante tossed him the apple since he was closer. He dunked it in the trash. "I bet you're still hungry," Jace declared.
"It can wait."

Nicole turned around and started to walk backwards. "How long have you guys been going here?"

Jace and Dante exchanged looks. "About four years. This might be our last. Depends on...what they have to offer. Of course, school isn't that great. They reteach a few things and most classes don't get new material for a few years."

Nicole shrugged. "I don't mind."
Natalie sighed and gestured toward her twin. "The nerd."
