Chloe: I looked down at our hands. "I don't know how to dance."

Asher: I chuckled to myself, and for once, it wasn’t an I’m-going-to-suck-you-dry chuckle. It was pretty normal. As normal as I could get anyway. I pressed her body close to mine, dancing swiftly and smoothly. I used to be one of the best dancers in the country.

Linden: “It doesn’t matter,” I said softly, my voice lowering lightly, “You just need to feel the beat, not the steps. It will come to you as you’re moving, you’ll see.” I stood up, pulling her up next to me, “Come on.”

Hey! I'll reply in a minute!

Chloe: I nodded smiling.

He moved me just to the corner of the rounded dance area. A slow song came on, and with a bored expression, he slow danced. Obviously, the little boy's hormones hadn't kicked in yet.
My mask hid my anger. Now I'd have to lure him alone some other way. But how?
I danced us into a darker part of the corner, wondering if he noticed. He seemed too bored and annoyed to be paying attention. Slowly, I dropped my hand from his, and tipped my mask up, exposing my eyes, and my face. With a sly smile, I slipped it back on.
Three possibilities might happen now:
1) He wouldn't recognize me.
2) He'd get scared and maybe let me take him away.
3) He'd scream like a maniac and get guards to take me away. Though, if this were to happen, I'd slip the knife out of my bra and stab us both quickly. I'd like to take time with my suicide, but that was a must-do in that sort of situation.
I looked down at him through half-closed eyelids and waited for his reaction.

Gemma: My breathing quickened and I felt the space that his heart should have been staying completely still. I wanted to press my ear against his chest to try and hear, to see if he was real... After all, he was a mythical creature.

Mint: I rubbed my eyes, "Miss, I have to go back to my chair now. I'm very tired and this dance is taking longer than the others." I bowed slowly and took a step away.
Right when I was about to turn away, I gave her a distasteful look, "Girl's like you should learn to have some respect for yourselves. Trying to seduce a young boy like me makes you truly pathetic."

Chloe: I looked up at the person smiling. The closer I looked I realized she was a boy. A pretty boy. "What's your name?"

Linden: I led her onto the ballroom floor and spun her around once, "My name's Linden," I answered her before pulling her to me. "Pretty good beginning," I smiled sweetly, "I bet you could be a professional if you keep this up." I bent down and touched my lips to her cheek.

Asher: The song ended and I took a step away, bowing to her, "I shall see you when the night is over." I rose and smiled slyly, "I have some things planned for this evening. Wish me luck maiden."

Juloon

A sweep of anger casted through me. I knew that whatever desired me to kill Mint was not a one-sided need anymore. I felt it, as well.
I reached out and grabbed his hand, sharp nails digging into his skin, but not enough to puncture through.
"You're not going back. You're coming with me."
I knew he could raise his voice at any moment, it was a public place and people could look over. Though, it seemed Mint was not well liked, and not paid much attention to by the crowd. Smiling, I figured his attitude was getting back to him in his last minutes of bratty life.
Slowly bending over, the light caught the knife in my dress. His eyes weren't drawn to the fake chest, but to the metal.
"Get the hint?"

Chloe: I blushed and looked down following his lead. "I'm Chloe."

Mint: My eyes widened in realization and I quickly struggled to get my hand free from her grip. "I will have you murdered if you keep this up!" I growled at her, using my other hand to try and push her's away.
I knew I recognized those disturbing wild eyes. The worst part of her trying to kill me before was the look in her eyes. It was a look that I knew only belonged to one other person. The monster.

Gemma: My face was flushed as we finished dancing and I fought back a guilty smile. I couldn't be happy to dance him... With /the monster./ But he had said that i would see him later. I wasn't sure whether to be nervous or happy, so instead, I sat down and watched the people dance around me.

Arlo: My eyes drew to Linden and the small maiden, Chloe. I felt a sharp pang in my stomach. What had I expected, in all honesty? He was a prostitue, a hooker, a whore. I sighed moved around on the edge of the wall, my eyes taking in the whole room now.

Linden: "That's a beautiful name, and it has a special ring to it," I spun her around again, feeling her dress hit against my own. I wasn't embarrassed in the least to be wearing such an outfit. It was nice on me anyway. "What is a girl like you doing in a ball like this?" My eyes caught sight of Arlo, leaning against the wall. I frowned, poor boy.

Asher: I moved through the crowd and back to the secret room that led me up to the high paths. It was good to watch from above what was happening down below. When the clock hits midnight, I will be sure to swoop down and start my hunt. It was perfect.

Allan: I gritted my teeth frowning. Who did that kid think he was dancing with my sister. I should go over and break it up...I looked around the room and saw Arlo watching them too.

Chloe: "I had to come, but it's fun. I like seeing the different people."

Henry: I looked down a few halls, an eerie feeling crawling up the back of my neck. I felt like I shouldn't be wandering around this place; that I shouldn't over cover any of it's hidden secrets. But there was something about this place that intrigued me.
I found another door and I opened it, seeing stairs. Many, many stairs. I swallowed before taking my first step, seeing dust blow around me from the wind the door created when it shut.

Asher: I lightly laid my lips on the back of her hand before leading her out into the middle of the ballroom. My arms placed themselves in a perfect position and I led her through the dance. "I know exactly what you're feeling right now," I whispered to her when I spun her around, "Try not to think too hard on something."

Vasilisa: I was on the verge of passing out, but I continue to try the door. My hands were swollen and they hurt. I let out a wail as tears fall down my face. i slumped down to the ground, crying. I was nothing. nothing more then a body full of blood. A snack.

Arlo: I glanced around and found a maiden. Taking her hand, I led her onto the dance floor, my eyes hot with color. We spun and for the first time, I really danced.

Before, him being too young for puberty was a disadvantage. Now it meant I was a lot stronger and taller than him, giving me a big physical advantage.
I tightened my grip, but he had tough skin. Pulling him close, I kept us up with a forced jerky dance motion. I walked closer and closer to the door I had planned, my mouth lighting up with a smile that could only be described as pure happiness. I was so close to the knife now. So close. Moments away.
I was shaking now. So close.
I danced us closer and closer to the door, keeping my hold on him tight.

Linden: I smiled and nodded, “Yeah…” I started and felt a hand on my arm, pulling me backwards. “Ow!” I rubbed my arm, looking up at my Master for the night, “That hurt!” He grimaced, “This isn’t your night to be having fun. You’re here because I paid you to escort me.” I frowned and folded my arms across my chest, looking away. As soon as I looked away, I saw Arlo. Did he really think he could just start dancing because I was dancing with someone else?!

Henry: I heard a cry and I quickly stepped down, shaking with fear of what could be up there. My body trembled, maybe I should go up and check, just to make sure someone wasn’t hurt up there… I found myself moving once again, going up each step tentatively.

Chloe: I stared up at the big man holding Linden. "Did he do something wrong?"

Mint: If I dared to cry out I knew she would go crazy and slice us both into pieces. I had to get out of this by myself.
"Stupid Kay for not doing his job," I muttered under my breath as I continued to try and get free from her. She was way too strong for a lady and it was making me angry.

Asher: Anger. My eyes flashed to little Mint being towed out of the room. I saw him clawing at the women who was taking him away from the crowd.
Excitement is what she felt. I didn't like this. Everything I've ever worked for was to end in killing that brat, and if she got to it first, things wouldn't work out as I wanted.

Vasilisa: I continue to sob and curl up in a corner. This is where I would probably die. I shook and look down my hands were starting to heal but it would take awhile. Time was all I have.

Finally, grabbing him close and quick, I threw open the doors and brought us out. I knew someone had probably seen by now, I felt their judging eyes on my back. I needed to work quick with that knife.
I was surprised he wasn't screaming. As we stood out the door, I lifted him by the waist and threw him over my back, kicking off the heels and starting to run to the deserted kitchen I'd been in so long ago. This special kitchen was only for mornings, and so it would be empty.
Had to run, hurry, hurry. I felt the knife bobbing up and down in my dress, and swore I heard someone chasing us.

Arlo: My head snapped toward Lindens voice and I sighed, wanting to touch his arm, give him a small smile, but he didn't feel it would be welcome.
