Brok: When we hung up, I told my brother to make dinner and took another nap.

Dakota: When work finished up I called Brok on my way out to my car.

Brok: My phone rang, waking me up. "Hello?" I asked thickly.

Dakota: "Are you drunk or sleepy?"

Brok: "I don't drink...why would I?"

Dakota: Because that's what all the crazy teen celebs did these days. "I don't know, it was the first thing that came to mind when I heard your voice."

Brok: I laughed. "Oh. Remind me to never drink, though." After what happened to Shane through his dad, I doubted I ever would.

Dakota: "Mmkay." I got into my car and started home.

Brok: "What about you? Have you drunk?"

Dakota: "A couple times. Most teenagers have."

Brok: I nodded to myself. "Oh. Well, Kent doesn't let us, so yeah. I haven't yet."

Dakota: "That's good. Most teenaged celebrities end up in rehab because of drinking. Or drugs."

Brok: "Yeah," I said. "Kent's a little over the top. But it's okay."

Dakota: "Must be nice to have someone looking out for you." I was about a block away from home now. "My parents really don't give a shit."

Brok: "Oh," I said. "Sorry about that. That's probably tough."

Dakota: "It's okay, I'm used to it." I got out at my house and went inside. "You said Kent's your "adoptive" dad or something? What happened to your real parents?"

Brok: "Hm?" Oh yeah, I forgot a lot of people didn't know this. "I don't know, actually. Trey and I were adopted from China."

Dakota: "How old were you when you were adopted?" I shrugged off my jacket and hung it up, then went up to my bedroom. The house was empty like usual.

Brok: I frowned. "I don't know, actually. About a year old?"

Dakota: "Oh, so then you don't remember China?" I flopped down on my bed, talking to him as I stared at the ceiling.

Brok: "Unfortunately, no." I laughed. "My Chinese is also very bad."

Dakota: I smiled, but he couldn't see. "Hey, this is random, but do you ever like...do something, maybe shrug, to a person when you're talking to them on the phone, and then realize they can't see?"

Brok: I was surprised by her question and grinned to myself. "Yeah, all the time. Why?"

Dakota: "You do? Oh good. I always smile when were on the phone, but then I realize you can't see...It's good to know I'm not the only one who does stuff like that."

Brok: I laughed. "Don't worry, I think everyone does it. Ask your friends."
