The Summer that changed my life forever...

Brok: I laughed. "I think all teenage boys are cocky anyway, so I'm not sure it matters."

Dakota: "True..." I shrugged.

Brok: I grinned. "So, what are we doing with the rest of this cake?"

Dakota: "Do you want it? If I keep it here it won't get eaten."

Brok: I laughed. "I guess I'll take it, then. I have a bunch of boys to help me."

Dakota: "Mmkay." I popped the cake out of the pan and wrapped it up so Brok could take it when he left.

Brok: "So, what should we do now?"

Dakota: I sighed. "I. Don't. Know." I never knew. I probably seemed boring.

Brok: "How long do we have?"

Dakota: "Awhile."

Brok: "Want to walk around the city a little? We should climb a mountain sometime."

(me?)

Dakota: "Climb...a...mountain? And 'sometime'? We have a few days, that's it. Okay, and when you visit...but /that's/ all."

(yup.)

Brok: I frowned. "I bet we could arrange to be let in, just the two of us, later."

(ohh yeah it is new, I guess.. lol)

Dakota: I smiled slightly. "That sounds good..."

(Well, I haven't seen it!)

Brok: "Cool. So, would you rather that be today or tomorrow?"

(yeah, haha xD)

Dakota: I shrugged. "Either works...but we don't have any ideas for today..."

Brok: "I guess we can go tonight, then. Give me a moment to make a call."

Dakota: "Kay." What was he going to do, bribe them? I went to the sink and washed off the bowls, etc, we'd used to make the cake.

Brok: I followed her around the kitchen, wondering when she would turn around and see me. "Hey, Kent? Yeah, could you call Estes Park and see if they wouldn't mind letting me in for the night?" He said yes and that he'd call back, and I hung up.

Dakota: "It was that easy?"

Brok: "Well, Kent has to do most of the negotiating. But they know him, so we should probably be able to get in."

(sorry my replies are so slow, I keep getting distracted)

Dakota: "Cool...what time?"

(It's fine.)

Brok: My phone rang again. "One moment." Kent said yes, we could have it in half an hour. "We can go in half an hour. We should start walking. Maybe we should just hike instead, though."

(it's hiking, not climbing...my bad xD)

Dakota: "Instead of what? Come on, let's go then," I said before letting him answer the question. I grabbed his hand and flicked off the kitchen light, then we left.

Brok: I grinned, glad she'd grabbed my hand, but then remembered something. "Hey, I need Dakota bear!"
