Character Chats Are Fun

Wolf
I trot along swiftly, the forest my home. I pause, catching the scent of others. Again, the wolf pushes at me; i feel my mouth dry slightly. A want, and not a need. I bury the wolf back down, ignoring its cravings. My icy blue eyes scan through the trees, my ears pricked forwards for any sound from the intruders.

"I'm here to cool off for a few days before my next assignment," explains Skipper. "Really, I have no reason for being here."

Andrew: Assignment?
Ezra: It's not fun is it...*to alyx*

Alyx: I sighed. "It's not my favorite activity. But it's kind of part of my life."

"Yeah," replies Skipper. "Assignment is one word for it. I'll probably be infiltrating a Zaxiphrasian slave ring or something. Or, you know, breaking my boss's erstwhile lover out of an unlawful imprisonment."

Alyx: "Yeah. All our lives are fun."

"I'd hate to have a boring life, though. Or no life at all."

Alyx: I shrugged. "Yeah, true. Sometimes I wish I could just relax, though."

"Yeah, that's what I'm meant to be doing right now... It isn't working."

Alyx: I nodded. "Yeah. That's just life."

Skipper nods thoughtfully. "You're right, kinda."

Alyx: "What do you mean by 'kinda?'"

"I'm not really sure. It's just one of those things you say, isn't it? But life isn't always lightspeed chases and explosions. Sometimes it's boring or upsetting."

Alyx: I laughed. "At least my life is never boring. But yeah, it's not always fun."

"Very true. At least none of my loved ones have died for some time now."

((Speak of the devil, and all that. The guy she likes dies before she ever gets to tell him, and as he's dying she can't say it.))

Alyx: I sighed. "I don't know. I have the bad feeling I'm going to lose someone."

Andrew: It isn't until your death until you understand how human you really are. In less than twenty four hours you can go from living and breathing to dead and gone.

Alyx: "You've definitely lost people, if I remember right..."

((Yeah, it is pretty tragic. And he gives her a message to give to his lover/arch-nemesis. Yes they're the same person. basically, as Noronel Justick is dying, he tells Skipper to tell Desiderata Malquefaux that he's sorry she couldn't be Desiderata justick. her reaction is the only time she shows an emotion completely, without hiding any of it))

"You know, I get that sometimes. It's so weird! It's like you're not a real person, and someone else is deciding what happens to you..." Skipper frowns. "There I go, getting all philosophical again!"

(I'm a bit curious to see Skipper's story now. Is it posted somewhere?)

Alyx: I laughed. "It's alright. I like philosophical conversations occasionally."

Andrew: Yeah, I've had my fair share of losses but that's life or in my case...death!
