What Is Left After?

Jelsa: "Don't look at me."

Wayne: I finally decided to go in. "Um, hey," I said. "I guess I could carry your axe."

"Ta." I hand him the axe, and wrap both of my arms around the container. I lift as much with my back as with my knees, even though that's not how you're meant to do it, and with a grunt I'm standing up again. "Right, let's go."

Wayne: I took the axe. "Okay, I'm ready."

Jelsa: "Let's go, then."

(Jelsa has a backpack, that's why she's not carrying the axe.)

Joseph: I look at him with interest. "How many people does this make, hmm? Peter, you're looks are legendary."

Aimery: I pat Joe on the back. "Joke's getting a little old, grandpa," I mutter as I walk past him.

Jelsa: "Let's just go, I don't like the look of this place," I said.

"I have no idea. I haven't been counting." I peer over the top of the water-thingy. "Umm... Ten-ish? I'm too lazy to count. But yeah, I am ravishingly handsome."

Jelsa: I rolled my eyes.

Wayne: "Where are we going again?"

Joseph: "The hotel," I say to answer Wayne. "Because I'm pretty sure Aimery's going to suffocate in her with all these people. She's not a people person, I think."

Aimery: I roll my eyes. "No, I'm just not the Let's-All-Stick-Together-And-See-What-Happens-To-Us type of person."

"I am!" I say, then blush.

Jelsa: "It's okay, neither am I. But I don't think I'll survive otherwise."

Wayne: "Oh, okay. Let's go, then!"

Aimery: I scoff. "Already out the door." I take a deep breath, relishing the not-so-fresh air.

Joseph: I roll my eyes. "Sure, Peter. But I don't think that'll save you from getting on people's nerves," I joke.

Wayne: "Oh," I said.

Jelsa: "It's okay, I'm not that best person to hang around either."

"Meh," I reply. "It's a blessing and a curse."

Jelsa: I shrugged. "I guess. I don't really know."

Roxanne: I found myself tagging along at the back of the group. I didn't want to, but it wasn't like I had anywhere else to go, really. Besides, I hadn't slept in a bed for about a week or so.

Wayne: "Are we almost there yet?"

Joseph: I pretend to flip my hair. "I know," I joke, grinning. "Everyone out? I don't want to leave anyone behind to face god-knows-what."

Aimery: I shrug, looking at Jelsa. "Well, come on. Antisocial people have to stick together." I grin at my words. "Makes sense if you don't think about it."

"I know," I interject brightly. "We can play I Spy!"

Jelsa: I laughed. "I'll take your word for it then."

Wayne: "I think everyone's here that went in..."

Wayne: "Sounds like an idea."

Aimery: I glance back at Peter for a second. "I Spy? Really?"

Jelsa: "Why not? At least we have something to do."

Aimery: I roll my eyes. "Well, not to burst your bubble, but what exactly are we looking for that we need to play I Spy?"

Joseph: "Other people," I snap at her. When I see her face, I burst out laughing. "And don't kill me."

Wayne: "Nothing. Just for fun, you know?"

Roxanne: I rolled my eyes, and surpressed the urge to scoff at that idea, but then I thought about it, and muttered slightly with a shrug, "I guess whatever trips your trigger."
